From Style to Sound: KAWASAKI ZRX1200DAEG Custom by K-FACTORY
K-FACTORY's ZRX1200DAEG
K-FACTORY has been developing and selling many parts for the Kawasaki ZRX series as “a bike that can be modified, ridden, and played with”. This DAEG is one of their demo bikes. In order to express the concept mentioned above, the parts installed are not only from K-FACTORY, but also include those from other manufacturers with which they have close relationships. This is done to create a cohesive custom look, and to show the consumer what a custom using K-FACTORY parts might look like.
The most eye-catching of the parts installed is the titanium full exhaust “CLR-RG+ Full Exhaust Hexagon Silencer”, which was released in 2021. It is a full exhaust system that adopts a 4-1 structure with φ42.7mm exhaust pipes, and sports the Hexagon Silencer that has been a feature of recent K-FACTORY titanium full exhaust systems. This silencer has a hexagonal shape, and both the front and rear ends are made of buffed machined duralumin to produce a unique sound quality.
"We developed this full exhaust system first of all with a focus on style. And from there, we wanted to make something that would let the rider enjoy the feel of a classic 4-1 exhaust,” said Mr. Kuwahara, the representative of K-FACTORY. "A 4-2-1 structure puts out more torque from low to mid rpm and pushes the bike forward, but with a 4-1 exhaust, when you turn the throttle lightly, you can feel the torque coming along with it, and you can tell that the throttle is being opened. I think this feeling is suitable for today's 1200 and 1300cc displacement motorcycles, which have become the norm. The torque is already generated by this larger displacement, so I think riders will feel more at ease if the throttle is easier to open when exiting a corner or accelerating on a slippery road surface. Additionally, that iconic 4-1 sound makes it possible to enjoy the feeling of being in control."
Handle
The Carbon Fiber Handlebar and Super Coat 50mm Extended Type Windshield are made by Magical Racing. The stem is a machined part by K-FACTORY.
The carbon monocoque NK-1 Mirror with Type-5 head is also by Magical Racing. The left and right master cylinders are Brembo radial, while the folding type levers, lever guards to prevent interference, and handlebar ends are machined aluminum parts from K-FACTORY.
Engine
The engine is a stock DAEG. The Clutch Cover TYPE-2 (right side, with separate slider) and Pulsing Cover TYPE-2 (left side, also with separate slider at the bottom), sliders, and radiator core guard are by K-FACTORY. The radiator shroud is a carbon product made by Magical Racing.
Intake & Exhaust
The φ34mm throttle body/twin flap FI is stock DAEG, now with machined air funnels and nets.
The exhaust system is the "CLR-RG+ Full Exhaust Hexagon Silencer (ZRX DAEG)". The 4-1 merge style with φ42.7mm exhaust pipes heat-colored in Starting Gold was developed to produce a comfortable sound quality and easy throttle opening feel along with the look of classic 4-in-1 exhausts of the past.
The 385mm length titanium shell hexagon silencer with machined duralumin front and rear ends is also a main feature of the “CLR-RG+ Full Exhaust Hexagon Silencer (ZRX DAEG)”. The stylish design dresses up the DAEG while also enhancing performance.
Chassis
The Riding Step with duracon slider embedded in the tip of the step bar is also a DAEG part by K-FACTORY. This 4-position type allows the bar position to be moved 35mm up/35mm back, 40mm up/45mm back, 45mm up/35mm back, or 50mm up/45mm back from the stock position. The pedals can also be adjusted 5mm forward and backward on both the left and right sides.
The swingarm is K-FACTORY's new reinforced cross section swingarm and the rear shocks are Ohlins. The rear brakes are composed of a Brembo CNC 2-piston caliper + SUNSTAR Works Expand disc. The wheels are BST Carbon Black Diamond in 3.50-17/6.00-17 sizes.
