OVER Racing Snella Swingarm: This swingarm for the Z900RS is a work of art!
OVER Racing Snella Swingarm
This spring, OVER Racing, a long-established manufacturer of motorcycle parts, announced its new "Snella" swingarm made of machined aluminum. At the time of the photo shoot, it was still in development, so the one shown here is in the prototype stage, but it is now on sale for the Z900RS, and there are plans to release a version for the ZRX1200 DAEG as well.
In fact, it has already been put into action on the H2R racer riden by Kojiro Mitsumoto, who competes in the Hercules class of the Taste of Tsukuba race.
In terms of design, the concave side of cast aluminum swingarms used for bikes such as the KTM DUKE series is usually placed facing outwards, but since the Snella is made for a bike with a more authentic design, they have been careful not to make it stand out too much. Even so, the beauty of the billet processing cannot be hidden.
If this product is well received, perhaps they will release one that is flipped the other way. We look forward to seeing even more swingarms from them brimming with originality.
The hollowed out surface faces inward. The arm is made of extruded A5803S to balance rigidity and cost. This is an area where OVER Racing's expertise in swingarm manufacturing comes into play. The design, which purposefully does not include a sway bar, but rather spreads wider in the center, boasts both beauty and novelty.
The pivot and end sections are machined from 7N01. Stand hooks come as standard.
For the Z900RS, the lower mount of the rear shock attaches to the box shaped bridge. The swingarm length is set at 585mm, equivalent to stock.
