Even Older Bikes Can Evolve At All: ZRX1200 DAEG Custom
Bagus!'s ZRX1200DAEG
The ZRX1200 DAEG has established a firm position in the customization scene. The final edition has been released in 2016, but its performance is the same as the current model. Therefore, there are only a few people who start customizing the ZRX1200 due to dissatisfaction with its performance, as is the case with older models, and the choice of parts tends to focus on the high dress-up effect when customizing. Newer models can run in such a state because of their high performance, but of course, this does not mean that their performance is being brought out to the fullest extent. Therefore, its owners often feel that customization does not change the bike as much as they expected.
For example, there are many aftermarket parts sold for the ZRX1200 DAEG, but each part is manufactured without considering its compatibility with the others. When multiple aftermarket parts are combined, the final balance must be achieved, so it is essential to have the proper body posture and suspension settings to maintain and control the posture. The ability to do this properly is the difference between creating a machine that can run and one that cannot. This custom ZRX1200 DAEG ran very crisply overall, with almost no nervousness, and was very easy to maneuver in small turns, especially in the mid-range speed range. The advantages of the high-performance parts were fully reflected in the machine.
Handle
The handlebars are made of EFFEX, in response to the desire for more space in owner's upper body. A digital fuel gauge is placed on the left and an ACTIVE digital multimeter on the right for easy visibility of information.
Bodyworks
Zero Gravity windshield also reduces fatigue caused by air resistance while riding on the highway. The headlight cover is made by JP-akai, a popular ZRX custom parts manufacturer.
The seat should have a higher seat surface if the emphasis is on riding, but it was lowered to improve ground reach. In addition, the pillion seat and rider's seat have different upholstery to differentiate them.
Just cutting off the fender never makes the bike stylish and storage capacity under the seat larger. The BAGUS! fender eliminator kit is designed to improve both the appearance and storage capacity.
Intake & Exhaust
The exhaust system consist of r's gear Wyvern exhaust pipe with Bagus! original silencer. It is easy to handle, with plenty of torque from low rpm.
Engine
Yamamoto Racing's Big Throttle Body is controlled by a negociator i. It does not directly increase power like a racing carburetor, but it greatly contributes to increased response.
Since the engine is designed to be enjoyed actively in the high-rpm range, the amount of heat emitted by the engine also tends to increase regardless of the season. As a heat mitigation measure, an ACTIVE big radiator has been installed.
Chassis
The rear shocks are Ohlins. The machine's setting is intended to increase preload to improve stability at mid-to-high rpm. In pursuit of rideability, the correlation between compression and extension damping forces, shocks length, and swingarm's angle was also carefully considered.
The front area was also carefully set up, with an emphasis on turning performance. In addition to the use of the Bagus! brackets, the Ohlins upright front forks provide a small but responsive handling feel.
WR's rearsets were chosen. The seat is low, so it felt a little cramped during the test ride, but it is very easy to maneuver. The simple design makes it easy to fit on a naked bike.
The wheels were changed to OZ Racing wheels, which allow the rider to enjoy the nimble riding. Front brake caliper consists of Brembo 4-pot 4-pad brake caliper, which provide easy braking force from the moment the rider steps on the brake pedal.
Quick Shifter is one of the most popular motorcycle custom parts for track racing, but the ability to shift gears without operating the clutch is effective in reducing fatigue when touring.
The swingarm is made by OVER RACING, and Bagus! also gave careful consideration to the setting of the drop angle and other factors. Brembo caliper is also used for the rear brakes to facilitate control of the bike.
