DIY! How to Reduce the Resistance of Metal Parts Using Engine Oil Additives!

How to

For the extreme pressure gears = differential gears, special lubricant = differential oil is used as a shaft drive motorycle. This is a high-performance oil additive that can be added to such differential oil to get that effect.

Various lubricants are used for the functional parts of a motorcycle, and the first thing that comes to my mind is engine oil and gear oil. Secondly, I can think of grease that lubricates bearings, swingarm pivots, and other bearings. There are many other oils and grease products that are used to lubricate other parts of the motorcycle, but for those parts where the oil is used purely for lubrication of the mechanism, the high performance additives developed for engine oil can be used for "application".

In fact, there is a high potential for its effectiveness. It is only an "applied use" in the personal responsibility of the machine owner, but in many cases, good results have been achieved.

Application of rubber grease with high performance additives to suspension

There are many parts of a motorcycle where metal parts slide on and off oil seals, dust seals, and reinforced plastics (DURACON and Bakelite). Front and rear suspension rods and oil seals, inner tubes and fork seals in the front, and damper rods and oil seals in the rear shock. By using rubber grease with a high performance additive in such areas, the sliding resistance between the rubber and metal parts can be reduced and a more linear and smooth operation can also be achieved. In this case, I used Super Zoil rubber grease. This is the most popular way to use Super Zoil, and it is easy to feel the effect.

Synthetic 4-stroke engine oil is 100% chemically synthesized, high performance engine oil with Superzoil added in advance. Superzoil for four-stroke engines is a mixture of your favorite brand oil and a high performance additive, with a viscosity specification of 10W-40. This gold-labeled product provides a metal surface modification and regeneration effect at a 10% addition indication to the engine oil volume.

You can use both wet and dry clutches, and there are many returning customers.

Generally, engine oil is changed in the cycle specified by the manufacturer. However, when mixed with a high-performance engine oil additive, the frictional resistance generated inside the engine is reduced and the engine oil becomes less prone to contamination. When the oil is first added, the oil tends to get dirty faster because it reacts to the sliding resistance of the metal surface, but after it is stabilized, the engine oil becomes less likely to get dirty. In the case of a four-stroke engine, regardless of the additive, do not fill the oil beyond the upper limit of the sightglass or filler check bar. If you put too much in, it can easily blow out of the oil breather at high speeds and cause problems.

The king of motorcycle, Yamaha V-MAX, mixed 10% four-stroke Zoil into the special oil used to lubricate the differential unit that drives the rear wheel, as well as the four-stroke engine oil. This is a personal responsibility of the machine owner, but it seems that in many cases you can get more benefit than expected.

POINT

  • Point 1 - It's only at your personal risk, but the application additions are worth a try.
  • Point 2 - Avoid adding it to the liquid called fluid. It looks like oil, but the name is brake fluid and automatic fluid.

Nowadays, additives for various purposes, i.e. high performance chemicals, are sold by various manufacturers. The Super Zoil series products have been well received by many users since its first released and their word-of-mouth has spread and now they have become popular products.

Not only Super Zoil, which is a special additive for both 4-stroke and 2-stroke engines, but also Super Zoil multi-purpose grease containing Super ZOil and Super Zoil Rubber Grease, which improves the sliding properties of rubber and plastic parts and metal parts, are now on the market. There is a wide range of products on the market. Here are some examples of applications of these products in suspension and differentials.

This is not a manufacturer's recommendation, but rather a "user's responsibility" prescription, and many users agree that it is effective. Other formulas have been tried and tested by users and reported to be effective instead of the original use of the products in the series. For example, the formula for older injection models and car fuel pumps.

The usual system feeds gasoline falling by gravity from the fuel tank into the carburetor, but due to the layout of the fuel tank, some carburetor models are also equipped with an electromagnetic fuel pump. Almost all motorcycles of the carburetor era use electromagnetic pumps. The number of cases in which fuel is not fed smoothly to the carburetor due to poor operation of the electromagnetic pump is increasing every year.

I've heard many examples of how Super Zoil is effective in such "fuel pump operability restoration". The specific formula is to prepare Super Zoil for two-stroke engines (Silver Label) and mix it with a full tank of fuel at a ratio of 250 to 300 to 1. In other words, the vehicle runs on a mixture of fuel and Super Zoil for two-stroke engines.

In most cases, the fuel pump is installed inside the tank or trunk, but the two-stroke Super Zoil mixed with the fuel reduces the bearing resistance of the fuel pump shaft and allows it to ride smoothly.

Many of the FI bikes developed after the 21st century have an in-tank fuel pump (mounted in the gasoline tank). The same amount of Super Zoil for two-stroke engines is added to the fuel as above, and the sound of the fuel pump revving is now clearly audible and smooth. There is also an example of this.

Since Super Zoil for two-stroke engines was originally designed to be mixed with two-stroke engine oil with separate lubrication, it has a characteristic of smooth explosion combustion. Since it was developed to be burned, it seems to work well when mixed with fuel as well.
