Bagus! Motorcycle's ZEPHYR1100

Bagus! Motorcycle sells quality used Zephyr series bikes, and also builds customs, mainly as complete packages. They also produce a number of original parts that not only capture the essence of the Zephyr, but also add a little extra touch to make it cooler and more user-friendly. This ZEPHYR 1100 has a complete custom made by Bagus as its base. For their complete customs, first the entire bike is disassembled, the frame is checked for bends and other deterioration, and if there is any, they fix it. The bike is then finished, including painting, and fitted with Ohlins shocks front and rear, forged wheels, and reinforced brakes, and the engine is of course overhauled before being loaded back into the chassis.

This custom was also built following the usual procedures of the Bagus Complete Zephyr, but the engine has been souped up to 1135cc specifications with forged pistons made by the British brand Omega based on data from Bagus, and mounted with a Bagus reinforced engine mount, with reinforced oil lines and an FCR φ37mm carburetor. The chassis was fitted with the aforementioned parts as well as a Bagus stem kit to create a 17-inch front end for better handling, and a press-formed swingarm was installed in the rear to balance the looks as well as the functionality of the bike. It is a common impression of Bagus Zephyr 1100s that they are light and easy to push and pull as well.

Mr. Tsuchiya, the shop's representative, told us, “This bike was built as a complete custom, and the customer who bought it is riding it now. The modifications include not just the usual complete menu mentioned, but also many options have been included. Many of the Zephyr customizations our shop does these days are like this, and the customers tend to leave the details up to us. For the 1100, we also like to keep a stock feel."

This machine is a good example of the current Zephyr 1100 customization trend. The “leave it up to us” approach includes not only the coloring but also the specifications, so the final choices depend greatly on Mr. Tsuchiya's ideas, which proves that Bagus Zephyr customizations have reached a trusted high standard. And with that trusted standard, customers may be tempted to ask for colors and specifications that have never been seen before, reflecting the custom expectations of the past.

Handle

A Bagus Offset Stem Kit for a short offset of 30mm to match the 17" front wheel (stock 18"/40mm offset) is installed along with Ohlins RWU forks. The handlebars are by POWER BUILDER with GALE SPEED VRC left and right master cylinders, and a YOSHIMURA PRO-GRESS2 meter is mounted with a special Bagus Bracket for a natural viewing angle.

Bodyworks

The fuel tank and tail cowl are fully painted with Z1000-inspired lines, and the “ZR1100” emblems on the side covers are also painted.

The seat has been replaced with the popular Bagus Alcantara Seat, which features Alcantara upholstery and internal modifications that enhance both looks and ride comfort.

Engine

The engine has been increased to 1135cc with a φ76mm Bagus OMEGA Forged Piston Kit, and is mounted with a Bagus Reinforced Engine Mount. The Oil Line Kit and Oil Catch Tank are also original Bagus parts. The oil pan is a flat type, and a Bagus Full Titanium Exhaust (4-2-1) is installed.

The carburetor is an FCR φ37mm with black funnels.

The stock clutch release spacer, which is often made of resin and cracks easily, is replaced with a Bagus aluminum spacer (gold part in the center of the photo).

Chassis

The front and rear wheels are forged aluminum MARCHESINI M10S Kompe-Evo in 3.50-17/5.50-17 sizes. The front brakes are composed of Brembo Axial 4P calipers and Bagus Works Expand Ф320 Floating Disc Rotors.

The rear brake caliper is a Brembo P2-RS84 and the disc is a Bagus Works Expand Ф250 Floating Disc Rotor. The silencer on the Bagus Full Titanium Exhaust has a Bagus logo added to it.

The rear suspension is a combination of Ohlins KA965 Black Line shocks and Bagus Press-formed Swingarm. The drive chain is an EK ThreeD 520Z.
