Single-Cylinder Serenity: YAMAHA SR400 Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "YAMAHA SR400" custom by Webike community user "KMC". The owner impulsively bought a 1987 SR400, convinced that nothing beats a single-cylinder engine. One of the main reasons for loving this bike is the incredibly satisfying vibration from the engine. Additionally, with its long history, the SR400 offers a wide range of aftermarket and OEM parts, making it highly customizable.
The exhaust has been swapped for a WirusWin Vanguard Exhaust (Sport Type) made of durable and corrosion-resistant SUS304 stainless steel. The elegant, upswept design of the exhaust complements the SR400's classic style perfectly. The sound it produces is deep and rich, with a low thumping noise that’s pleasing to the ear—never too loud or annoying, making it perfect for city rides.
As seen in some of the images, the seat has been replaced with a Semi Double Seat in black by Payton Place, giving it a more chic feel compared to the brown option. The rear end has been lightened up with a GOODS Fender Eliminator Kit, crafted using 3D scanning to ensure a perfect fit for the SR. To combat the intense summer heat in Japan, the bike is equipped with a compact yet highly effective EARLS Oil Cooler. For the tires, race-grade DUNLOP SPORTMAX, known for their sharp and agile handling, are equipped. They offer a linear turning response, smoothly adjusting to lean angles for precise cornering performance.
