I sped up to 40 mph.While going over bumps, I felt the bike was a bit stiffer, but I do not know if it actually was, or if I just felt that it was, because that is what Yamaha’s demo video demonstrated that it would be. Perhaps it was just a biased psychological feeling.Based on the high-cost of this mod, for city riding, I would not recommend the Yamaha Performance Damper, because there is no noticeable difference in the ride. I have not ridden it on a highway above 40 mph, so I am not in a position to comment on that.We either trust Yamaha, or we do not. There is no in between.
