Renewing the front rim was not as difficult as anticipated. I borrowed a truing stand and torque wrench from a friend, making the job very straight forward. The existing rim was cracked and welding/repairing it would have cost more than replacing it..I purchased this, This is the best rim I've used for what it cost.because my rear rim had been damaged by the prior owner. I really like the look of black rims, so I got a black one. I could not ride around on a silver rim and a black rim . . . . . so I got a black front rim.Takasago Excel has been doing wheels forever and they make a top line product, so I knew this would be a good choice.The big downside with this product is that it looked so good, it really added and exclamation point to how sorry the rest of the bike looked! I finished off the front with a 2017 - 2020 restyle kit and a Typhoon brake rotor.After that the train kind of left the station.
