1. After draining the old oil, the cap won't open and new oil can't be put in. To avoid the problem, open the filler cap first and then loosen the drain bolt.

2) Put the drained oil back in the oil can for disposal at the dealership.  Discarded engine oil also varies from municipality to municipality, so you should look into it.

3. Fill the element with oil before installing the oil filter and allow it to blend in. This will prevent oil from running out of oil as it accumulates in the element.

4. This is where the real work begins. Turn the oil filter upside down to prevent oil from leaking when you open it. Do not press the cutter too hard or it will not cut well.
After one round of rotation, push the cutter further against the filter and repeat the process of pushing and turning it again. Then it can be cracked cleanly and the contents can be taken out, so the rest of the work is separation. However, there are some types of elements with filter paper glued to them, so be careful because it takes time to separate them.

Advice

The work itself is simple and the oil filter can be disassembled so that the waste can be separated and disposed of. The price of an oil filter cutter is around 70 USD at the cheapest, so it's a poor cosmetic tool that you can't get your money's worth on an individual basis.
