1: Remove the seat.
2: To remove the old seat cover, pull out all the needles of the tacker that holds the cover.
*Use a suitable tool to lift the needles, and then use pliers to pull out the pins.

5: Apply a thin layer of bond to the seat base and stretch a new layer of urethane.
6: Warm the seat upholstery lightly with a hair dryer or similar tool.
7: Place the seat upholstery over the urethane and temporarily fix it in place, aligning it with the center of the front side.
8: Temporarily fasten the seat upholstery on the rear side as well, aligning it with the center.
9: Stretch the seat upholstery while balancing the sewing lines so that the left and right sides of the seat upholstery are even, and temporarily fix the seat upholstery on the side.
10: Fasten the front side of the seat while tensioning the upholstery.
11: While tensioning the seat upholstery on both sides, fasten the seat upholstery while maintaining balance.
*The direction of pull should be diagonally backward and downward.
*The difference between the tandem part and the front is a difficult part.
12: Finish fastening all the way around, taking care not to wrinkle.

- The tips and tricks of the operation, and others.
When removing an old sheet, the needle of the tacker may be rusty, so carefully pull out any needle that looks dangerous so that it will not break off and be left on the sheet base.

When stretching the cover, make sure to leave some space between the needle and the edge of the surface to avoid tearing the cover when pulling. Also, if you pull too hard, not only may the temporarily fastened area be torn off, but also the seat base may warp, so be careful not to apply too much force.

Depending on the shape of the seat base, there may be places where the tacker will not fit, so I used pliers to fasten one needle at a time.

In the instructions, it says to use a hairdryer to warm up the base as needed, but I didn't need to do that because of the high temperature. If you do warm it up, be careful not to damage the surface by overheating it.

Advice

This is about the tucker, a necessity for this work. I bought the cheapest one I could find at a home improvement store, but I should have paid a little more for a better one. Also, the tucker is a surprisingly dangerous tool, so I think it would be better to take measures such as protecting your eyes with safety glasses.

I can't say it was perfect, but I think it turned out okay. The RIPMO seat is molded to fit the factory seat base, so if you follow the instructions, you can finish the job. The urethane of the Ripmo seat was a little hard when pressed by hand, but it gave a good impression when sitting on it; comparing it to the old seat that had been used for 20 years, the seat became very comfortable. I would recommend this product to anyone who is experiencing sagging seats.
