HONDA XR250 Motard OEM diversion HACK

We will introduce an enthusiastic story from "Denou" who rides an XR250 Motard from Webike Community "Moto Hack" campaign! He shared the OEM diversion technique of the XR250 motard that is easy to understand because he is the owner!

Denou's Brief Self-introduction

Beloved Motorcycle Introduction

I bought this XR250 motard (2003) in March of this year as a commuter motorcycle. The exterior is in reasonable condition for its age and I have replaced it with a good one when I'm concerned about it. The direction of my customization is to ride with the appearance of stock and improve the part which I am dissatisfied with and enjoy.

How I enjoy my usual motorcycle life

I use it for commuting to work, going to the mountain pass, motorcycle customization ideas, and motorcycle tinkering.

A brief explanation of this HACK

I was bothered about the meter case scratches and plastic wrinkles of the XR250 motard. I decided to replace the meter case only since changing the meter case would change the total distance. The off-road motorcycles such as XR250 and CRM250 have the same meter case, so replacing the meter cover is an effective way to freshen up the look of the OEM meter.

(5) Separate the meter body as shown in the picture. Pull the knob inward and remove it from the inside of the meter body. When replacing a new meter, pull the knob out from inside. The rubber stopper will come off, but you can put it back in again.
(6) Put the new case on and reverse the procedure to restore.

HACK summary

The meter is a noticeable spot while driving, so if the case itself is new, the area around the handlebar will look fresh. A set of speedometer can be expensive even for used parts, so if the meter is fine, I think you can refresh around the handlebar by replacing the case only. You can search for it in the parts list of the motorcycle you need and order it from WEBIKE.
