A few days after going to camp......
My name is Miya, a staff member of Webike, which makes me want to go camping again.
Do you guys go camping on your motorcycles?
Spending time in nature with your motorcycle is the best way to spend your time. But when it comes to camping on a motorcycle, loadability is important, isn't it? The size of the tent is particularly important as a place to sleep, so you want to make it as small as possible to carry around, especially since it is the largest piece of equipment.
However, you don't want to put too much emphasis on carrying it around and make your living space too small. DOD's RIDERS TANDEM TENT is recommended for such people.
I bought it and used it, and I'd like to give you my reviews!
DOD: RIDERS TANDEM TENT
This is the RIDERS TANDEM TENT that we are introducing. As the name suggests, this tent is designed to be used by two people. The room is 210 cm x 210 cm. It's spacious, so it can accommodate up to four people. Also, size when stored: 24 cm in diameter x 65 cm in length and it's very compact, so it's perfect for loading motorcycles! It's easy to assemble, just pull the cord, which is easy for beginners to set up, so you can reduce the time it takes to set up your tent and enjoy a more fulfilling camping experience.
I quickly unfolded the tent.
This time, the setting for pitching the tent is the "Goko Ranch Auto Camping Ground" in Nagano Prefecture. It's a great place to camp on a large tract of land with grass all around.
I scouted around for the best position and found a spot with few people safely!
It's time to set up your first tent! I thought I'd go to.
Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the set-up!
I'll post a picture of how to set up the DOD as an apology m(__)m
It's only 8 steps!
Regular tents have a sheet to put underneath the tent called a groundsheet, or a frame to crawl over the tent, which is a tedious process.
However, the tandem tent has a seat frame already attached, so it's as easy as pulling a string at the top of the tent and it's ready to go, just like an umbrella.
This was my first time setting up a tent, and it only took me about three minutes to set it up nicely!
It's a privilege of the one-touch type tents to be able to set up easily and hassle-free. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is new to it. The ceiling is also reasonably large, and my 175cm height allows me to change clothes inside the tent, and it was a great space to set up my cot, which is about 180cm long, with ease.
What is the functionality?
During this camping trip, I had a few dips in the rain, but I was able to relax without worrying about the rain because of the spacious front room. It also has excellent water repellency and will not flood the inner tent, which is made up of two layers.
It's also very breathable and has a very good ventilation system.
- Mesh windows on both sides of the front compartment
- Small ventilation windows on both sides of the room
- Large ventilation window at the rear of the interior
All three are fully equipped, so it was well ventilated and we never had to worry about the heat and humidity.
Slightly difficult to store?
The next day, I blew the groundsheet and the areas with morning dew that was in contact with the ground before cleaning up and drying them naturally in sunlight. Then, one-touch and an easy teardown! But the size is so large that it's difficult to get it to the size it was originally folded in.
Just hold the base of the umbrella and lower it as shown in the picture to make it look like a folding umbrella.
At this time, close all ventilation windows and zippers in the front compartment.
Imagine a large folding umbrella and fold the frame together first, then fold the fabric.
Once it's folded, all you have to do is put it in the bag and you're done! Once the bike is strapped on, it's ready to go. The folding process is the most troublesome part, but once you learn how to fold it correctly, you can take it down in a few minutes, just like when you set up.
By the way, this is what it looks like when I load it into my CB1300SB.
If you have a pillion seat as big as the Big Naked, it doesn't feel as wide as the tent itself, so you can easily load it up.
Thoughts on using it
As this was my first time to stay in a tent, I was anxious about setting up, but I was able to enjoy a comfortable camping experience without any worries. However, the problem is that the aluminum pegs that came with it seem to lack some strength. There were times when it bent or broke while typing. If you're unsure, you may want to buy another peg.
If you've always wanted to try camping but were worried about being able to set up, you've been struggling with! I highly recommend the DOD's one-touch tent for your camping debut this year!
