What is Carbon?

Carbon Fiber (CFRP/Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) is one of the plastic products, which is simply molded by sandwiching a sheet woven with carbon fiber.

Usually, a Glass Fiber Sheet solidified with plastic is called "FRP," but carbon is "Lighter" and "Excellent in Strength" than FRP.

Since Carbon Fiber (Carbon), which is excellent in lightness and strength compared to fiberglass (FRP) is very expensive, it is often used for high-end products where performance is more important than increasing price.

Dry Carbon is a product that combine Superlight and Superstrong. It is molded through a complex manufacturing process such as applying carbon cloth to many layers on a "Mold" to be manufactured and finishing with high temperature and high pressure. Therefore, Dry Carbon is much more durable and stronger than Wet Carbon, so it is suitable in fields that require high performance and high durability, such as motorcycle sports, road motorcycle, aviation, space fields, etc.

"Carbon Edge Protector" is a carbon part that acts as a protector by attaching it to the side edge of a gas tank or tail side.

In addition to the durability of Dry Carbon, the strength is made by sandwiching the famous DuPont Kevlar® and increasing strength.

This will protect the edge of the tank and the tail cowl in case of falling or sliding and prevents holes in the gasoline tank from coming into contact with the road surface or prevent a scratch at the edge of the tail. Usually, the accuracy of the installation is very severe for the type of covers such as FRP and Carbon. In particular, accurate accuracy is required for covers that fit curved surfaces and edges such as tanks, tails, etc.

Therefore, in order to avoid a situation that is "too small", "too narrow", and can not be installed, some manufacturers have manufactured with margin accuracy to some extent.

As a result, it may lead to "lifting parts" that bothers when installing.

You can choose from 3 types of carbon finishing.

For adhesives, I recommend using silicone sealant, as it is recommended to use a type that remains elastic after curing.

I bought sealant at a home center in my neighborhood. I had purchased a 100ml bottle because it is a handy type rather than a typical 330ml bottle (using a gun) type.

Even in a large amount, it cannot be consumed, so I recommend to purchase a handy type for about 300 yen.

By the way, the one I bought is a versatile sealant, but there is also an exclusive adhesive for Dry Carbon products, so if you want to stick to professional specifications, I recommend purchasing exclusive adhesive.

OEM Cowl Attachment

As I wrote above, the accuracy is perfect. The thickness of the double-sided tape may lift up if you poorly attached with double-sided tape.

The original silhouette is finished in the image that combines the "adult's elegance" that carbon is drifting while changing to a sharper silhouette because the edge part is tightened in black while keeping it as it is.
