Yamaha MT-07 Owner Review

Introducing the passionate story from "Tossie" who rides the MT-07, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shares his reviews of the MT-07, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.

Brief self-introduction

Motorcycle history and motive for purchase
I started riding when I was in college and it has been almost 20 years since then. The reason I started riding was that I wanted a moped to go to my part-time job. A friend of mine had started riding motorcycles at the time, so I chose a YB-1 with a manual transmission, which was a stroke of luck. I immediately wanted to ride a bigger motorcycle, so I got my regular motorcycle license. At first, I rode a VOLTY for about two years, and this is how I got into playing with motorcycles. I was hooked on the café racer style, which was popular at the time.

Next up was the SRX400 (final model). I woke up to driving and changed the carburetor and did a lot of things. I painted the exterior of the carburetor in the bathroom.

I decided to get a large driver's license while I was still in school, so I switched to a Hornet 600 while I was getting it. But for some reason, the straight 4 didn't suit me and I switched to the VFR800. It was my first motorcycle after I entered the workforce, my first new motorcycle, and my first loan, and I needed a little courage to buy a motorcycle that cost a million dollars. This motorcycle is the longest I've owned it so far, 8 years. I've been to many places. As usual, I've done a lot of work on this motorcycle, but at the same time, I realized that expensive motorcycles are hard to mess with. It's more complete and less frustrating, and if you mess with it badly, it loses its balance (both in looks and performance).

I wanted a motorcycle that would satisfy my desire to tinker with it a bit more, so I ended up with the MT-07 and here I am today. For some reason, the MT-07 felt a bit like the SRX, and once again, after I started riding the MT-07, I realized that I wasn't very good at big motorcycles. The weight? Motorcycles are best when they are light and moderately powerful.

How I enjoy my motorcycle on a regular basis
I'd like to say that day touring is the main purpose of this vehicle, but recently, tinkering with it has become the main purpose.

Satisfaction

For applications
It's just so light! I don't have to worry about how to handle it at all, so I feel like I can ride on any road. I used to drive the SRX on snowy roads in the past, but I think I can do it (but I won't). Anyway, it is very reassuring to know that I can get by with both feet on the ground.

For riding
Also, the combination of a light chassis and a modestly powerful engine makes winding roads a pleasant experience. It stands out more in comparison since the previous one was a heavy VFR motorcycle.

For appearance
It looks and feels luxurious for the price. Personally, I find the engine to be beautiful. Then there's the butt. The pointed tail of the earlier model is very sexy.

Dissatisfaction

My biggest complaint is the maneuvering. I can't get used to the very sluggish and restless suspension. It is not possible to ride with the body of the motorcycle which continues to shake because the damping is not effective. I think it is the opposite of the VFR of the heavy motorcycle. I don't agree with the position of the footrest either. It's oddly in front of you and hard to control.

Summary

I honestly think this quality for this price is amazing. The fact that it doesn't feel nearly as cheap is impressive in terms of product planning. The legs are crappy and the exterior is made with a lot of unpainted resin, but somehow it doesn't feel cheap.

And this lightness makes you think again about the origin of the motorcycle. I highly recommend it to first-time riders of big motorcycles.

Also, it's an awesome pinpoint, but if you've ridden the SRX, it's a motorcycle you'll get into. I'm easily hooked on it, too.
