Honda VT250F Integra Owner Review

Introducing a passionate story of "Shigezo Rider" who rides VT250F Integra, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shared his review of the VT250F Integra including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.

Brief self-introduction

Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
Twenty-six years on a motorcycle.

I used to ride a ZZR400 to school. Later on the motorcycle, it was mainly for day touring. I maintain and customize my motorcycle and ride it myself. That's how I enjoy it. After restoring MC15, I started overnight long-distance touring. I'm hoping to start cap touring this year.

How long have you been riding this motorcycle?
I've owned it for 3 years now.

Motive for purchase
I'm going to do a full-scale restoration, and I'm going to get a replica type model under 250CC, considering taking the engine down. Found it while searching at auction as a base for a restoration. I felt sorry for it because it was too neglected. If it's neglected because of too much driving or something, but neglecting it in an almost new model condition (778km) is not.

Satisfaction and Strengths

For applications
It can handle city driving, mountain passes, touring, and highways. I don't get sore muscles, especially when touring. (It varies from person to person. I'm a petite 160, so it's OK for me.)

For riding
It banks very straightforwardly. The body is recommended for beginners. It has a unique Honda-like finish. The acceleration is good enough to keep up with the 400CC class of Naked.

For appearance
It doesn't look too retro for a machine made in 1986. I don't know how they did this design in this era. The area around the gauges is so tacky, it's a bit Showa! I like the fact that when I turn on the lights, the blinkers come on as well.

Dissatisfaction

For applications
If you are considering touring, you must have special accessories for loading other than tank bags and seat bags (side bags, nets, mobile phones, navigation systems, cameras, etc.).

For riding
Sometimes the motorcycle stalls at traffic lights. (It may be a common problem in old motorcycles with carburetors.) Acceleration is insufficient below 5,000 rpm, making it unusable. Brakes are too weak. Because the body is light, it wobbles in the wind. Fuel consumption is limited to about 20Km/l because the main jet is larger than other VT250F.

For appearance
None in particular.

Summary

For a 1986 motorcycle, I guess it's an older motorcycle. I still think maintenance is a concern. But don't be so scared, if you replace the inner VTR front fork, the rear suspension, and the heat resistant regulator, you'll be good to go with just the engine oil.

As for the rest, it's a problem that can happen in any model. There are a lot of used parts on the auction site. The first time I rode the MC15 after the restoration, my first thought was "Is the acceleration really that good for 250CC?"

As I mentioned in the pros, my body and the motorcycle are so compatible with each other that I don't get muscle cramps even over long distances. I've ridden all kinds of motorcycles, but I've never found a motorcycle that is as good as this one. You can accelerate when you want to, turn when you want to, and stop when you want to. This is what I feel when I ride.
