Since its launch in 1998 as Japan's first 400cc scooter, the Skywave 400 has been well-received for its high riding performance, comfortable ride and sophisticated styling. The 2026 model of the Burgman 400 ABS, which was released in 2017 as a fully improved model, will be released on July 18th with a new color.
The Burgman 400 ABS combines high riding performance and comfort
The Burgman 400 ABS maintains its sophisticated styling and comfort while adopting a slimmer, sportier and lighter design, adopts LEDs for the headlights and rear combination lamps, and is equipped with a linked monoshock rear suspension.
In 2021, it will be newly equipped with traction control, making it possible to efficiently transmit engine output to the road surface. In addition, the engine adopts Suzuki Dual Spark Technology (two spark plugs per cylinder, achieving high combustion efficiency. Contributes to smooth output characteristics, high combustion performance, and reduced exhaust gas emissions) and changes the injector to a high-atomization type to improve combustion efficiency, achieving a luxurious feeling while complying with the domestic exhaust gas regulations of 2020 (Reiwa 2). All of these have been inherited in the 2026 model.
The engine is a water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC 4-valve single-cylinder 399cc, generating ample power and torque with a maximum output of 21kW (29PS) / 6300rpm and a maximum torque of 35Nm (3.6kgm) / 4900rpm. The "Suzuki Easy Start System" is adopted, which starts the engine with just one push without holding down the starter switch. The wheel size is 15 inches in the front and 13 inches in the rear, achieving stable riding performance, and the traction control system makes it possible to efficiently transmit engine output to the road surface.
Another reason behind the popularity of the Burgman 400 ABS is its comprehensive equipment. The seat uses a thick cushion that supports comfort, and the adjustable backrest realizes the optimal seat position. It is equipped with a 42L trunk space under the seat that can store helmets and other accessories, front boxes on the left and right under the handlebars that are convenient for storing small items such as gloves, and a 12V DC socket on the right side.
The 2025 model of the Burgman 400 ABS will be available in three colors: Reflective Blue Metallic, Pearl Matte Shadow Green, and Matte Black Metallic No. 2. It will be released on July 18th at a price of $6647.96 including tax.
