Yamaha Motor has announced the 2025 model of the "YZF-R15" for Thailand. The specifications and equipment are the same as before, but the eye-catching "Futuristic White" is now available. The local price is $3589.81.
Introducing new metallic pink and white colors
The light-class "YZF-R15", which has been in the lineup in Asia since 2012, will be introduced in Japan from 2023 at the same time as the "YZF-R125". These two models are the smallest in the YZF series, but they have excellent power performance and equipment that are typical of the YZF series, such as a VVA (variable valve) engine that is typical of super sports, traction control, assist & slipper clutch, and Φ37mm inverted front forks.
This time, a new 2025 model of the YZF-R15 has been announced in Thailand. Although the R125 has not been introduced in Thailand, the specifications are almost the same as in Japan. It has a displacement of 155cc, 14kW (19PS) / 10,000rpm, and also features an M-shaped duct and bi-function LED headlight. What is noteworthy is the addition of a new color that is not seen in other countries, and will be available in three colors in addition to the existing "Racing Blue" and "Tech Black".
The new model is "Futuristic White," which features a metallic white base color with a pale metallic pink accent. The graphics on the side fairings are also new, emphasizing the "R." In addition, the motorcycle is equipped with gold wheels, giving it a unique presence that is a departure from the cool image of the past.
The pink accents and gold wheels make for an unprecedented design.
The use of pink as an original color is rare, not just for Yamaha, but for motorcycles in general. However, in 2007 Yamaha announced the "XS-V1 Sakura" concept, which was also based on a metallic pink color, and the color layout this time has a similar feel. This color suits the Japanese landscape well, and we hope to see it introduced in Japan, but since there are many models in Thailand that are only available locally, it is unclear what the Japanese specifications will be. We look forward to further news.
The existing "Racing Blue" and "Tech Black" will continue to be available, making the lineup three colors in total.
