This is a corner where we introduce a bike that caught the editors' attention from "MY Bikes" posted on the Webike Community. The model we are introducing this time is the Yamaha "YZF-R1", owned by "S.P.M.C Factory Manager (Troinpu)".
YZF-R1 (998cc) Owner: S.P.M.C Factory Manager (Troimp)
The supersport YZF-R1, which was released in 1998, has been Yamaha's flagship model to this day. When it was released, it was advertised as the "fastest on twisty roads" and was designed to show high maneuverability on winding roads. From the beginning, it had the extreme driving performance of a liter SS, but as it continued to receive feedback from the racing scene, it was further improved in performance, and it is still a top-end model in 2025.
The YZF-R1 that S.P.M.C Factory Manager (Toro Imp) introduces this time is a 2007 model that has not been introduced in Japan. In addition to a 4-valve engine and layered cowling, it is equipped with equipment that is comparable to current SS models, such as an electronic throttle, air funnels, and a slipper clutch, and it has an output of 179 PS/12,000 rpm. And yet, with a dry weight of 177 kg, it was a high-performance machine with an ultra-first-class power-to-weight ratio.
Its performance has not diminished at all even in modern times, and the owner's comments began with "It's just so fast, too fast lol", but also said that it feels safe even in corners, making it the "fastest on twisty roads". The owner's machine in particular is also equipped with custom parts, and the muffler is equipped with Yoshimura's TRC dual, further improving performance, and the cowling is all painted in white and red following the race model YZF-M1, giving it the presence of a seasoned super sports rider!
It's not an easy machine to deal with, as it's difficult to obtain parts due to the year of the non-official model in Japan, and there are issues with exhaust heat, but the S.P.M.C factory manager is enjoying this fastest bike to the fullest.
The 2007 YZF-R1 is a model that underwent changes to its engine and brakes, and its performance is still top-notch today.
The unfamiliar color is actually an original paint. It matches well with modern parts.

■Reasons for purchase, uses, and comparison models
The fastest motorcycle from each manufacturer that everyone dreams of at least once
■Pros
It's just so fast
It's too fast lol
It can easily reach over 300km/h
It's very safe in corners
It has a lot of heat so it's warm in winter
It was too fast when I started riding and I couldn't put it all the way in the power band
■Cons
170km/h in 1st gear is unnecessary for city riding (;´・ω・)
The side stand is too weak, two of them broke (no need for weight reduction in a place like this)
Poor fuel economy (17km/l when cruising at high speed)
If the tires are not reliable specs, they will slide and rock It's very hot and the running costs are high
The heat is terrible
If you keep gripping it with your knees in the summer, you'll get burned by the super hot frame
You can't get service at Yamaha because it's full power in reverse
You can't even buy parts with your own vehicle's body number
■Advice for people who are going to buy one
If you're going to buy one, I definitely recommend full power in reverse
Even though it's not full power, it's a minus when you consider the other disadvantages
So that it doesn't die...
■Future Customization plans
What else should I do...
The speed is undeniable
It's not a bike for comfort, so there's nothing to do
