Yamaha Motor will release the 2025 models of its mid-size sports models, the YZF-R3 and YZF-R25, on Thursday, April 24th. The main features of this new model are the front mask, which has evolved for the first time in six years since 2019, and the new assist and slipper clutch.
The color variations have also been revamped. The price will be $4827.99 for the YZF-R3 and $4593.91 for the R25.

The YZF-R3 and YZF-R25, which have been in the domestic lineup since 2014 as standard motorcycles in the YZF series, are full-cowl mid-size sports motorcycles that share a common platform except for the difference in engine displacement. In 2019, major changes were made to the body design, the front forks were changed to a large-diameter inverted type, and a full LCD display and LED headlights were installed.
The new model that has been released this time follows the new specifications announced overseas last fall. The R3 has a significantly updated exterior while retaining the engine output of 42PS/10,750rpm. The style is related to the latest "YZF" series, which is equipped with one projector light and two position lights, just like the YZF-R7 and R15 that were released earlier. In addition, winglets that were fed back from the works racer YZF-M1, which contribute to improving aerodynamics, have been newly installed, completely changing the image from the conventional one. In addition, the body has slimmed down the seat width and side covers, improving foot reach.
The YZF-R3/R25 has changed its appearance significantly for the first time in six years. It is newly equipped with the "M"-shaped intake and winglets common to the series.
In terms of equipment, it adopts a new A&S (Assist & Slipper) clutch, making clutch operation lighter and smoother, and is compatible with the smartphone app "YAMAHA Motorcycle Connect (Y-Connect)" and newly equipped with a USB Type-A terminal compatible socket. It strengthens the sporty image while also improving convenience.
The color variations are three new colors common to the YZF-R3 and R25, "Matte Yellowish White Pearl 1 (Matte Pearl White)", "Deep Purplish Blue Metallic C (Blue)", and "Matte Dark Gray Metallic 6 (Matte Dark Gray)". Both models will be released on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The price is $4827.99 for the YZF-R3 and $4641.79 for the R25, which is the same price as before. It is equipped with a new design and functions, and is a great price for entry-level users. The planned annual sales volume for both models is 1,800 units in total.
