The stylish fifth-generation PCX will be available in four colors
The new PCX was announced in Europe in November 2024, and the new PCX160 in Indonesia in December, and the next PCX series has been eagerly awaited for its Japanese version. According to information obtained by this magazine, the new PCX/160 will both be released on February 6th, with the price of $2432.50 for the 125 and $2961.30 for the 160.
The first generation PCX was released in Japan in 2010, and the current model debuted in 2021. It is a full change with a revamped frame and engine, and is equipped with an eSP+ engine to comply with Euro 5 emission regulations. The previous 150 was changed to "PCX 160" to coincide with the increase in displacement to 156cc.
And the new model, which is the fifth generation, mainly brushes up the exterior. The engine is now compliant with the new emission regulations.
The most noticeable change is the front mask, which retains the image of the conventional V-shaped position light while emphasizing the V-shaped design. In addition, the design of each cowl has been revised to have sharper angles, making it look even sharper.
The body color of the domestic model will be completely changed, and it seems that four colors will be set: Pearl Snowflake White, Pearl Magellanic Black, Pearl Jupiter Gray, and Matte Starry Blue Metallic. The body color will be the same for both the 125 and 160, and all colors will have a two-tone black and gray seat.

The 2025 European PCX125 comes in Pearl Snowflake White. It looks like the same color will also be available for the Japanese version.

Pearl Jupiter Gray is available for the 2023 European PCX (pictured). It is a chic, glossy color.

Matte Starry Blue Metallic is a matte color that is also available on the 2021 Dio 110 (photo).

The color variations of the new Japan model PCX (CG created by the editorial department) are expected to be completely changed.

The conventional PCX, which debuted in 2021, has undergone a full change in both engine and frame. The new model will retain the same basic design.

The overseas model's color LCD screen is not available in Japan, and a new steering wheel cover has been added.
The European 125 and Indonesian 160 models were released with a color LCD meter and a reservoir tank on the rear suspension, but it seems that this will not be available on the new Japanese model. The meter will remain the same as the previous monochrome LCD, but the decoration will be changed. In addition, a handle cover will be adopted, giving it a more stylish impression.

As with the conventional model, the inverted LCD monochromator is located in the center. A three-dimensional decoration that connects to the left and right has been newly adopted. *The photo shows the European version.

The engine complies with new regulations, and aftermarket exhaust systems are no longer allowed on the 160.
The new PCX/160 engine complies with the new exhaust gas regulations. In order to comply with the Euro 5+ equivalent regulations, a new ECU setting and O2 sensor have been adopted, and the catalyst position has been changed. In addition, only the 160 uses anti-tamper nuts on the exhaust system mouth nut to comply with the OBD-2 (on-board diagnostic device) regulations that will be implemented from December 2024. Therefore, it is necessary to be careful as it is no longer possible to replace it with an aftermarket exhaust system.
The fuel efficiency of the 125 has decreased from 48.8 to 47.7 km/L (WMTC mode). On the other hand, the 160 has increased from 43.7 to 44.9 km/L. In other specifications, the overall height has been changed from 1105 to 1125 mm. It seems that the weight of the 160 will increase by 1kg.
In addition, a new "body mount shield" ($66.98) will be released as a genuine accessory.
The price of the PCX has increased by $105.76, and the PCX160 has increased by $320.49 due to regulatory compliance, but the new model is more stylish. We are looking forward to the official announcement and release.

The proud eSP+ engine meets the European Euro 5+ emission regulations. Only the 160 meets the OBD-2 regulations. Idling stop and traction control are also still used. *The photo shows the European specification.
