Honda will release the large street fighter "CB1000 HORNET" and its higher-end version "CB1000 HORNET SP." The model is fully equipped with an engine that shares the same design as the CBR1000RR and a TFT LCD meter. The CB1000 HORNET (2025) is a new street fighter that many fans have been waiting for to be released in Japan.
It is equipped with a 999cc in-line four-cylinder engine that is shared with the CBR1000RR. The photo shows the standard model.
The CB1000 HORNET SP (2025) is a high-end model that is specially tuned to produce +6 PS and is equipped with Ohlins suspension.
The engine installed in the CB1000 Hornet is based on the 2017 CBR1000RR. The standard Hornet has a maximum output of 111.6 kW (151.7 PS) / 11000 rpm and a maximum torque of 104 Nm / 9000 rpm, demonstrating high power inherited from a super sports car, but the SP has an even higher maximum output of 115.6 kW (157.2 PS) / 11000 rpm and maximum torque of 107 Nm / 9000 rpm, with improved exhaust efficiency thanks to the Revolutionary Controlled (RC) valve installed in the exhaust system.
The frame is a newly designed steel twin spar frame, the front suspension is a 41mm diameter Showa SFFBP fully adjustable inverted fork, and the rear shock is also made by Showa. The SP is equipped with a high-grade suspension, with an Ohlins TTX36 rear shock.
The front brakes are equipped with double 310mm diameter floating mount disc rotors, the standard model has a Nissin 4-pot caliper, while the SP model has a Brembo Stylema 4-pot caliper, both radial mount. The rear brakes for both the standard and SP are a combination of a 240mm diameter disc rotor and a Nissin single-pot caliper.
The meter uses a 5-inch full-color TFT. The meter design can be customized to display patterns of "bar", "circle", or "simple". In addition, the "Honda RoadSync" app can be used to connect to iOS/Android smartphones, and functions such as calling, messaging, music, and navigation are also available.
The popular CB1000 Hornet comes in one color each, with the standard model in "Pearl Glare White" and the SP model in "Matte Ballistic Black Metallic". The standard model is priced at $8702.56, and the SP model is $1569.31 more, for a total of $10271.87.
It will be released on Thursday, January 23, 2025, and the annual sales plan is 600 units.
The maximum output is 112kW (152PS)/11,000rpm.
The SP, which is equipped with a special valve on the exhaust, has been increased to 116kW (158PS)/11,000rpm.
The rear shock of the SP is the Ohlins TTX36. This alone costs about $1296.95.
The SP's front brake uses a 310mm diameter disc rotor and Brembo STYLEMA 4 pot.
