[New Model] A Closer Look at the YZF-R7 2025 Model with Color Change

YAMAHA Motor Co., Ltd. will release the 2025 model of its super sports motorcycle, the YZF-R7. The color variations have been changed from the previous model, and the lineup will feature new graphics in two colors, blue and black.

The model will be released on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The price will remain the same as before, at $6756.72. It will only be sold at YSP and Advance dealers nationwide.

The YZF-R7 is a 689cc mid-size supersport motorcycle that has been on sale in Japan since February 2022. It has been three years since its release, but it has not undergone any major model changes. The 2025 model announced this time will have the same equipment and specifications as before, with only color variations updated.

Two colors are available: Deep Purplish Blue Metallic C and Matte Dark Gray Metallic 6. The previous matte gray will be discontinued. The new colors are similar to the previous base colors, but the blue has a new graphic with white accents. The matte dark gray has a different impression, with a matte color that gives a sense of sculptural beauty.

It will be released on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The price will be $6756.72, the same as the price since 2023. It will be available at YSP and Advance dealers nationwide. Annual sales are expected to be 400 units.

Demonstrating its presence as a super sports motorcycle that everyone can enjoy

The YZF-R7 is equipped with a 689cc water-cooled parallel twin-cylinder CP2 engine, which is also used in the MT-07 and Tenere 700. With a 270-degree crank, maximum output of 54kW (73PS)/8,750rpm, and maximum torque of 67Nm (6.8kgfm)/6,500rpm, the engine has torqueful characteristics, and pursues high athletic performance befitting a supersport. However, in contrast, the frame and cowl have slim, skinny proportions, improving foot placement and ease of handling, and providing controllability that is integrated with the rider. It is not the "high performance but difficult to handle" characteristic that is common in the image of supersports, but rather its high performance and easy-to-handle character is highly rated.

In terms of equipment, it is also equipped with a full range of equipment that brings out the sports riding characteristics, such as an assist slipper clutch, inverted forks, and radial mount calipers. Although it does not have rider support systems such as an electronic throttle or riding modes, it simply pursues the fun of sports riding. Combined with styling that inherits the lineage of the YZF series, this is a model that allows you to easily enjoy a super sports car on winding roads or on the street.

The 688cc CP2 engine is designed to provide nimble performance and controllability.

It has the same water-cooled 2-cylinder DOHC engine as the MT-07 and produces 73PS.

A quick shifter is also available as an option, allowing for smoother gear changes.

The lights are equipped with projector lenses, in the latest YZF family style.

The skinny proportions aim for a slim body, which also provides excellent aerodynamic performance.

The meter is a full LCD meter with inverted liquid crystal, and has a simple design.
