The RCM concept of a good base for the Ninja emerged.
AC Sanctuary produces custom RCMs. While the air-cooled Kawasaki Z is the main focus, the GPZ-R series, which is the next pillar of their business, has recently seen a sudden increase in orders. What is the background to this?
"I think it feels like customers are responding to the environment surrounding the GPZ-R Ninja first. Specifically, the price of the base vehicle has risen, and on top of that, the condition of the motorccyle has deteriorated considerably, and genuine parts have been discontinued. It seems that they wanted to take action early. I think that's where RCM fits in.
You get the base, fix it first, then choose the parts, fix it, and ride it... With the RCM Ninja, you can do all of this all at once. The Ninja RCM Sports Package TYPE-R that we are currently developing also used vehicles and used cars in excellent condition, which could be used as the base. However, the condition of the vehicles we were procured deteriorated, so in 2015, we completely revamped it into the new TYPE-R, which requires a full engine overhaul for the RCM-350 and later models.
In 2018, we prepared oversized forged pistons to accommodate the discontinuation of the original pistons, and the front forks were changed to Ohlins RWU. Aftermarket parts have also changed, such as the discontinuation of the Brembo axial calipers, so we have put them all together and are supplying the "New TYPE-R Ver2020" menu.
The motorcycle introduced here is the RCM-520, which will be the demo vehicle. As Nakamura said, the engine has been fully rebuilt, and the body has been optimized to fit the 17-inch wheels, and the front cowl mount at the front end of the frame has been restored and powder coated. The electrical equipment has also been remanufactured from a new model for the successor model to create the basic style. On top of that, customization has been added to suit the owner.
"Through this work of creating the basics, I think that the Ninja has reached the realm of old motorcycles, just like the Z. So customers who choose the Ninja look for a good motorcycle and create their favorite specifications in order to drive it for a long time."
When choosing a motorcycle like the Ninja, it is not just a used motorcycle, but the RCM itself, which has been taken care of and modernized, and whose characteristics are clearly known. In the case of the Ninja, the start edition of the Sports Package TYPE-R Ver2020 is now the one to go for. As mentioned above, this package has been completely renovated and is now in a state equivalent to a new motorcycle, and it is what Nakamura once advocated, if a new motorcycle were made by the manufacturer now... This is what users value.
If you want to get a Ninja now and enjoy it, this is the perfect base for customizing. Of course, you can also add more to it. This motorcycle should be a good reference for doing so.
Detailed Description

The exterior paint, based on the A6 line, was done by Okushin. The bosses that attach the upper cowl stays on the frame of the Ninja are often damaged or cracked, so RCM reinforced them by welding. In addition, the frame was modified to accommodate wide wheels on the rear, and finished with a powder coat.

This motorcycle is further customized based on the Ninja Sports Package TYPE-R Ver.2020 Start Edition. The handlebars are POSH Super Rover, the meters are Defi speedometer + STACK tachometer/fuel gauge + Yoshimura progress meter. The mirrors are Magical Racing NK-1.

The front brake/clutch master cylinder is a Brembo radial CNC, and the lever has been changed to a ZETA RCM concept FLIGHT lever.

The seat is the Daytona RCM Concept COZY seat. It has been completely redesigned from the ground up, and the shape of the internal foam has been revised to improve foot placement and comfort.

For the RCM Ninja Sports Package New Type-R, the engine is checked in its entirety, replaced with new parts or reworked (such as the separate chip-cast rocker arms for the A16 and the reinforced generator chain for the A8 and later), and then reassembled. The cylinder block is also hydraulically inspected, and forged oversized pistons are installed, new valve guides are installed, and seat rings are cut. Of course, the crank, transmission, and electrical system are also touched up.

The basic carburetor is a TMR φ36mm, but options are also available, such as changing it to a TMR-MJN and adding a Yoshimura dual stack funnel.

The exhaust system is a Nitro Racing titanium exhaust with a Grenade Titanium V-III silencer, both of which are heat polished.

The frame is fitted with a Nitro Racing combination kit, which consists of a down tube and step base made from a fully machined aluminium monoblock, which reinforces the area from the front engine hanger to the swingarm pivot, whilst also giving the motorcycle a neat appearance.

The front fork is a new inverted 21 FF5210BLK made by Ohlins, and here we use the Nitro Racing inverted E×M package, which includes a sculpture stem and front fender, etc. The front brake is a Brembo CNC GP4-RX caliper + RCM concept disc φ320.

The swingarm is a Sculpture RCM-specific wide swingarm + Monaka-matched stabilizer, and the rear shock is an Ohlins 17-inch compatible part.

The front and rear wheels are O.Z Racing aluminum forged GASS RS-A, 3.50-17/5.50-17 inch size. By using ZRX1200 wheels, the axle shafts have been enlarged to φ[STD value: 17/15→]25/20mm. The rear brake is a Brembo CNC nickel coated caliper + Sunstar φ250mm disc.
