The 19th NEW ORDER CHOPPER SHOW was held in Kobe on Sunday, September 1st.
We would like to introduce you to the YAMAHA SR400 Chopper show bike that was exhibited at the ROMP motorcycle booth at the event!
But first! What is the NEW ORDER CHOPPER SHOW?
Many custom motorcycle enthusiasts are familiar with the NEW ORDER CHOPPER SHOW, and many of you have at least heard of the name!
Under the name NEW ORDER, it is the first indoor show in Japan featuring only CHOPPERs, and is an event that leads chopper and custom bike culture in Japan, and is held every year in Kobe! (Excerpt from the NEW ORDER CHOPPER SHOW website, with some additions)
This year, Typhoon No. 10 hit at exactly this time... Due to its influence, the Shinkansen was suspended and some highways were closed, and it was feared that the event would not be held, but it was held without any problems! Kobe was blessed with good weather on the day, and it seems that about 4,000 people gathered!

NEW ORDER CHOPPER SHOW sticker is cool.
Beautiful and ferocious SR400 chopper
This time, I would like to introduce the SR400 of KENTA, who lives in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The first time I saw this SR was at a morning activity meeting that I hosted in the summer of 2022. The moment I saw it, the first thing that came to my mind was "Beauty and the Beast." (It's not that the beautiful SR is the "beauty" and the owner KENTA is the "beast" lol)
The "beast" in "Beauty and the Beast" was originally a handsome and kind prince. The prince was turned into a beast by a witch's curse. That's the story in a very rough way (was that too rough? lol)
This SR has both the beauty of a "beauty" and the ferocity of a "beast," but when you look closely, it is carefully crafted, and you can feel the kindness and masculinity of the beast's true identity, the "prince."
The owner, KENTA, looks more like a "beast" in appearance, but when you talk to him, he has a whispery voice, is humble, and is an extremely kind older brother.
While working as a self-employed person, he also works as a staff member at Garage ROMP motorcycle (Seya Ward, Yokohama City), helping people with their customizations!

Beautiful and dignified side view A-side

Side view B side looks a little worse than A side (I think).

Is it the influence of the cast wheels? Powerful front view

From the back, it is quite slim! The excess parts have been chopped (=butchered off)!

See, it's both beautiful and ferocious, isn't it?

Custom when I first saw it! Its style is cool too, although quite different from now!

We meet at a fairly high frequency, but the custom has changed each time we meet!
What was the response to the NEW ORDER CHOPPER SHOW?
At the chopper show, a bat wrapped in barbed wire was attached to a sissy bar and displayed!
If you've ever watched the overseas TV drama "The Walking Dead", you'll know what I'm talking about, right?
It's the most dangerous weapon that first appeared in the Season 6 episode "Devil's Whistle"! Yes, the Lucille bat!
Attaching this bat made it look even more ferocious, captivating the attendees.
At the ROMP booth, people got to straddle KENTA's SR and take photos of him swinging the bat. It seems like it became a popular photo spot!

Using KENTA's SR and Lucille Bat, the sisters also took pictures.

Here is Lucille Bat with barbed wire wrapped around it!

The bat makes it more ferocious!

Lucille Butt's place is here! I don't carry it around when driving on public roads.

Riding with Lucille Butt gives a sense of the Witch's Delivery Service lol.

What are your plans for future customization?
KENTA's SR400 was made by an Indonesian builder (Miyabi Chopper) with the SR400 chopper in mind.

They are now considering a style that is even closer to the Miyabi SR400, but with a unique look.
There is no end to customization. We are looking forward to the next development!

Whose motorcycle should I write about next!
In the future, we will focus our articles on fashionable street bikes, custom bikes, and old cars that we have encountered in our "Single Cylinder for Everyone" activities. What shall we do next? Look forward to the next issue!
