Introduction of my car

I'm back on the bike after 10 years on a Yamaha Tracer 900GT.

How to enjoy your everyday bike

I enjoy touring and winding down the mountain passes.

A brief description of this HACK

1594087155167L.jpg
The front fork of the MT-09SP has been diverted to the Tracer 900GT.
The same process can be applied to the MT-09 series (17~17) and others.

I wanted to replace the rear suspension with OHLINS and make sure the front end was damped as well.
Compared to the stock fork, which has pressure and extension damping on each side, the MT-09SP fork, which has pressure (high speed/low speed) and extension adjustments on both sides, was installed with the thought that it would have a larger damping capacity.

How to do the HACK, instructions, work instructions, etc.

Basically, it's a matter of replacing the forks and removing the ABS sensor and replacing it with an ABS sensor specific to the MT-09SP.
These are two points.
You may want to have a spare ABS sensor cable clamp (a few hundred dollars).

Purchased from WeBike Genuine Parts Sales. It comes in a box.

On the left is a stock MT-09SP fork and on the right is a stock Tracer 900GT fork.

You will need a front stand and various tools, so if you're not sure, ask the shop for them.
Replacing the ABS sensor is especially difficult because the connector is under the tank.

It looks almost the same.

The only thing that's easy to see from the outside is that the pressure side (high speed/low speed) adjuster is now on the bottom. (That's why I had to install the ABS sensor in a different way to make it fit the MT-09SP specific ABS sensor.

The fork tops have spring preload adjusters and extension adjusters on both sides. Naturally, they should be adjusted the same on both sides.

Summary of HACK

The downside is cost.
I feel that the changes to the suspension settings are decent, unlike the stock ones.
