Suzuki will make a minor change to Suzuki's leading super sports bike "GSX-R1000R ABS" and release it from April 25.
Based on the concept of the "No. 1 sports bike", the "GSX-R1000R ABS" thoroughly re-examines the basic design of "running, bending, stopping" that harmonizes the engine and the body, which is the feature of the GSX-R series, By using the technology cultivated at MotoGP, it was further evolved and balanced at a high level. It is the most powerful model in GSX-R history and the best in environmental performance.
The main changes are color change, muffler body color and muffler cover change, tire change (Bridgestone RS10 → RS11), front brake hose change (stainless mesh), ETC 2.0 standard equipment.

Engine
・ The 999 cm3 in-line 4-cylinder engine adopts the "Broad Power System" that incorporates the technology developed by MotoGP. "Broad power system" is a generic term of four mechanisms, and is a technology that balances the output improvement in the high rotation range and the output in the low and medium speed range.
1) Intake VVT where the cam timing is variable by the steel ball built in the cam sprocket spreading outward due to centrifugal force when it reaches a certain rotational speed
2) Electronic throttle and two injectors to improve combustion efficiency, throttle response, maximum power
3) Valve control system that realizes accurate valve control and high engine speed
4) Three exhaust pressure adjustment valves that improve torque over the entire rotation range by optimizing exhaust pressure based on engine speed, throttle position, and gear position

Motorcycle Body
・ The frame improves aerodynamic performance by reducing the overall width, and optimizes weight reduction and rigidity balance.

・ Showa's high-performance front and rear suspension developed in the race, BFF® (balance free front fork) and BFRC® lite (balance free rear cushion light) are standard equipment.
・The Brembo monoblock radial mount brake caliper is used for the front wheel. The Brembo T-drive brake disc, which can transmit the braking force more efficiently, has been upgraded and equipped for mass-production vehicles.
・ABS uses a motion track brake system that suppresses rear wheels from floating during full braking by using an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). Furthermore, even during braking when cornering, the front wheel grip is reduced by optimizing the front brake pressure based on the inclination angle. ※1

・For the first time on a commercial vehicle other than Suzuki's competition vehicle, a launch control system is introduced that assists more efficient start by controlling the engine speed and torque and suppressing floating of the front wheels during circuit driving. ※3
・ We adopt "Suzuki easy start system" that engine starts by only one push without keeping pushing starter switch while "Low RPM Assist" which slightly raises engine revolution speed at the time of start and low revolution driving and "start" engine.
・Standard equipped with "ETC in-vehicle unit" that can confirm the operating status by the display in the meter.
* 1 ABS is not a system to shorten the braking distance. Please make sure to drive safely according to the driving environment, such as sufficiently decelerating before the corner.
* 2 Traction control does not completely control the slip (spin) of the rear wheel under all conditions and does not prevent a fall.
* 3 The launch control system is a system to assist the rider's operation on a closed course. Inappropriate operation such as abrupt engagement of the clutch may cause an accident or a fall.
