Customize your motorcycle to your liking starting from the "Start Edition"
AC Sanctuary delivers complete custom RCM (Radical Construction Manufacture). The GPZ900R Ninja has a full overhaul of the engine and a 17-inch body, making it the RCM Ninja Sports Package New Type-R Start Edition. The evolved Ninja has been accepted by many fans and is attracting attention as a Ninja that can be purchased now. This motorcycle is the RCM-580, which has been customized by replacing the carburetor (TMR is the standard specification for the New Type-R) with a TMR-MJN dual stack funnel specification. It is also a representative example of the current RCM Ninja. The New Type-R, which is the basis for this motorcycle, finishes the base motorcycle to a certain level. Although not as many as the manufacturers, they handle multiple motorcycles, so the quality and numerical differences between each motorcycle are reduced. In other words, quantification is done at a high level. If that is the case, it is natural for users to consider that level as the standard. However, the immediate challenge is to create an environment where this level of motorcycle can be produced (Start Edition) from used motorcycles available on the market.
"The condition of the original motorcycle is only getting worse, so we are now adding the option to replace parts that are likely to break down first, such as cams and rocker arms, and we are spending more time and effort to level the motorcycle. We can still run the body and suspension by repairing, reinforcing, and upgrading it, but without the engine parts, it's all over. When making an RCM at Ninja Engine, we always perform a water pressure test at DiNx, our internal combustion engine processing department, before starting work, but recently there have been more leaks. The O-ring that goes between the sleeve body of the wet liner and the cylinder to seal the cooling water. One of the two types used has become out of stock at the manufacturer. We think we need to do something about these parts," said Sanctuary's Nakamura. The RCM-580 has undergone the same process, as well as dynamic balancing, journal wrapping, and other work to correct the bent crank, creating a finish that is better than that of a new car, so there is no problem for the time being. However, the question is what to do about the future. "We consider the New Type-R to be a complete Ninja, so we want to continue to maintain and provide this shape and content in a healthy way. The work itself is unavoidable due to deterioration, but we are moving towards a situation where we don't have any parts, so we would like to supplement what we can with parts related to RCM production, even if it is a small effort. We can't make it as quickly as a manufacturer, but we want to do what we can."
Although such difficulties have appeared in the past, RCM/AC Sanctuary has overcome them each time and established the current method of building and providing base motorcycles and customizing them from there. This RCM-580 motorcycle, as I will say again, is also an example of the contents that have been explained so far. Once again, it is a reference for the modern version of the Ninja, and I would like to pay attention to maintaining the environment where you can safely build a motorcycle that you can enjoy for a long time without difficulty in the future = RCM Ninja.
Detailed Description
The left and right master cylinders are Brembo RCS (New Type-R standard is Nissin horizontally mounted), and the mirrors are Magical Racing Racer Replica Mirror Type 2 heads. The eye-catching A6 type GPZ logo placement was specified by the owner.
The Sculpture Stem Kit TYPE-1 (offset changed from the stock 40mm to 37mm) and the Daytona "RCM" concept low handlebars are installed. The stock meter has been refreshed and a Yoshimura progress meter has been added.
The exterior was repainted by Okushin based on the A6's original color, with the logo color and Kawasaki logo emblem arranged for a more elaborate look.
The seats are equipped with the Daytona RCM Concept COZY seats, which are designed to be comfortable and reduce fatigue.
The engine is a 958cc model with φ74.5mm forged pistons, and the crank has been corrected for bending, dynamic balanced, and journal wrapped. The head area has undergone almost a full menu of procedures, including replacing oversized valve guides and cutting the seats. All of these procedures were carried out by DiNx. The exterior is given a gun coat finish. The frame has been modified to fit 17-inch and wide rear tires, and the Nitro Racing Combination KIT III has been added. Menakite titanium nuts are used for the main nuts that secure the steps at the swingarm pivot.
The carburetor is a TMR-MJN φ38mm DSF (Yoshimura Dual Stack Funnel) with two-stage funnels in gold and black to match the body color.
The front forks are equipped with Ohlins RWU via the Nobrest E×M package, and the front brakes are a combination of radial mount/bridge layout Brembo 484 calipers and Sunstar RCM concept φ320 discs.
The rear is fitted with a KA203 Ohlins 17-inch compatible shock absorber, combined with a wide swingarm made exclusively for Sculpture R.C.M. The drive chain is a narrow-body EK530RCM made by Enuma Chain, in BK;GP (black and gold).
The rear brake is a Brembo 2P caliper + Sunstar φ250 hole & slotted disc. The front and rear wheels are O.Z Racing aluminum forged, GASS RS-A 3.50-17/5.50-17 size. The exhaust system is Nitro Racing titanium exhaust heat polished + Grenade Titanium V-II silencer heat polished.
