Honda has announced the new 2025 PCX160 from Indonesia (PT Astra). It has been completely redesigned, following the same model change as the new PCX125 that was announced earlier in Europe. It is newly equipped with a newly designed headlight, fairing, TFT LCD meter, etc. The lineup includes three grades: the RoadSync type with smartphone connectivity, the ABS type, and the CBS type.
Will this new 160 also be introduced in Japan along with the PCX125, which is expected to be introduced next spring?
New front mask with V-shaped headlights and 5-inch color TFT screen
The new PCX125 announced in Europe has an engine that complies with the latest exhaust gas regulations EURO5+, and various equipment has also been upgraded. The PCX160, newly announced in Indonesia, also shares the same body design as the 125cc model and has been updated to conform to the new model. The most noticeable change is the front mask, which retains the same V-shaped headlight layout as the previous PCX series, but has a different impression with the adoption of large LED lights. In addition, the fairings and taillights have been redesigned to have sharper angles, making it immediately obvious that it is a new model.
The PCX160 is equipped with a 156.9cc water-cooled single-cylinder "esp+" engine, with the Indonesian spec producing a maximum output of 11.8kW (16PS) / 8,500rpm and a maximum torque of 14.7Nm (1.5kgf.m) / 6,500rpm. The tire sizes are 110/70-14 in the front and 130/70-13 in the rear, with most of the main specifications remaining the same as the previous model.

The new PCX family has been released in Europe as a 125 and in Asia as a 160, but in Japan, both models have been available side by side. It is almost certain that both the 125 and 160 will be upgraded to the latest overseas specifications when the next model change is made for the Japanese market.
