Enhanced MotoGP Style with Winglets: GSX-R1000R Custom

BrightLogic's GSX-R1000R

At the spring 2022 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, the booth of Carrozzeria Japan, a supplier of OHLINS suspension systems, was decorated with a variety of demo motorcycles. One of the most eye-catching works was the GSX-R1000R by BrightLogic.

The OHLINS suspension was a prerequisite for the installation of the winglets, and also because it was a demo bike.

Bodyworks

The front winglets, which are made of 3D printed show-spec resin, fit perfectly around the nose of the GSX-R as shown here.

The single seat cowl is an OEM genuine part. A stopper pad is stretched over the tip of it, and duct-like rubber seats are added on both sides (the stock GSX-R has no ducts) to enhance the GSX-RR style. Rear blinkers are mounted behind the pillion step bracket (removed).

Engine

The engine is also equipped with a GB Racing cover and a BrightLogic shift rod support for improved shift change accuracy and smoothness.

Handle

Based on the 2021 M1, the top bridge is a Bright Logic original that has been stripped to look like a MotoGP machine. The front master cylinder is a Brembo radial pump, and the wire-operated clutch holder has been replaced with an ACITIVE STF lever that is retractable to reduce rattle.

Chassis

The front forks are OHLINS inverted FG R&T200 (FGRT224), and front fender made of carbon. The front brake system consists of a Brembo CNC P4 30/34 caliper and Brembo brake discs (Φ320mm) with stainless steel mesh hoses. Wheel rim stickers are OEM accessories.

For the rear brake, Brembo CNC P2 34 caliper is used with Brembo brake discs with Woodstock supports. 3.50-17/6.00-17 size wheels are stock with OHLINS TTX GP rear shocks. For the rearsets, Performance Rearsets Kit was installed with carbon heel guards.

Electrical

Visible through the wing are the small Kellermann Bullet Atto blinkers of 13x9x14 mm. The front side is placed in the standard position.
