Accelerating in Red: KAWASAKI ZX-14R Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "KAWASAKI ZX-14R" custom by Webike community user "Ganbo". Determined to ride a ZX-14R—but one that wasn't green—he went to a shop to see what was available. He immediately made up his mind when he saw the 30th anniversary model, featuring a GPZ900R-inspired color scheme to celebrate the Ninja's debut. Describing his riding experience, he says, “Once I get onto the highway, I twist the throttle lightly, and the acceleration is so intense that it feels like my brain is being left behind.”
While many around him chose a BEET exhaust, he opted for the NOJIMA DLC Titanium Full Exhaust. The weight was drastically reduced from the stock 18.4kg to just 9.6kg, and the torque improvement during acceleration was immediately noticeable. Additionally, the deep black titanium gives the bike a premium feel, and he loves the pleasant, low-end rumble of the sound.
For the radiator core guard, a must-have upgrade when purchasing a water-cooled bike, he chose NOJIMA again. Made of high-quality, weather-resistant SUS304 stainless steel, it offers excellent durability and adds a touch of style to the bike.
To find the perfect riding position, he installed a HURRICANE Handlebar Kit, raising the position by 90mm and moving it 25mm closer to the rider compared to stock, which helped ease the strain on his neck. He replaced the bulky stock rear fender with an ACTIVE Fender Eliminator Kit, achieving a cleaner, more stylish line. For extra protection against dirt, he also installed an A-TECH Rear Fender.
