Adjusting Enjoyment to Fit the Rider and the Changing Environment: KAWASAKI ZX-14R
K-2 Project's ZX-14R
The ZX-14R's front brake calipers are changed from the stock Brembo M50 to the racier Brembo CNC. The front forks are also replaced with Ohlins accordingly. Brake discs were Sunstar Premium Racing. The wheels are Gale Speed Type GP1S. The left and right masters are also Gale Speed Elaborate. For the purpose of reducing fatigue, we chose Φ17.5 for the clutch side, which works lightly. Overall, each parts are lighter and easier to control and provide safty. If that makes it easier for riders, they can go farther without getting tired and stay focused.
It is also characterized by its creative use of color. Fully painted with a custom look while utilizing the factory lime green and black. The exhaust is also a Nojima Engineering x K-2 Project collaboration product that is designed to enhance performance and reduce volume.
Handle
The base is a ZX-14R high-grade, and the handlebar holder and handlebar are using its stock. The tanks on the left and right master cylinders are filled with green brake fluid.
Both clutch and front brake master cylinders are Gale Speed Elaborate VRC. On the clutch side, a Φ17.5mm piston specification was selected to lighten the operation.
Bodyworks
The seats are To's Custom Supreme seats for added comfort. Purple/black/green body paint is YF design.
Engine
The 1441cc straight-4 engine and aluminum monocoque frame are the ZX-14R stock, and ECU settings were made by MotoJP due to changes on exhaust system.
Intake & Exhaust
The left and right exhaust system is 4-1-2 titanium, a collaboration between K-2 Project and Nojima Engineering. The entire surface is finished in a heated color, adding accents to the body. The steps are made of Wood Stock, and in addition to the functionality, the playfulness of these small color details is another way to enjoy.
Chassis
Front brakes are Brembo CNC P4. The front forks are also Ohlins inverted forks due to the change in mounting pitch from 100 to 108 mm. Discs are combined with Sunstar Premium Racing.
The wheels are forged aluminum Gale Speed TYPE-GP1S in size 3.50-17/6.00-17 inches. The ZX-14R stock center stand was retained for ease of maintenance.
Rear brakes are Gale Speed 2P calipers + Sunstar premium racing discs. The swingarm is a Wheelie and the rear shocks are Ohlins.
