The cowl of a motorcycle serves to cut wind from the front and reduce the wind blowing against the rider's body, reducing fatigue and loss of body heat.
However, naked bikes, street fighters, and neo-classic bikes, which were not originally equipped with cowls, have chosen to go cowl-less for visual appeal and weight reduction.
World Walk's DS-01 bikini cowl will not affect the design of your bike and will not change the steering feel.

■ABS, a material that achieves low cost and ultra-light weight
Bikini cowls are generally manufactured with a material called FRP.
Although FRP is strong, it is relatively heavy and may affect handling depending on the model.
In addition, it was necessary to make a new mold for each model, which could have increased the unit cost.
Therefore, we adopted ABS, which has elasticity in the material itself and is highly versatile in installation.
Although the cost of the mold was 10 times higher than that of FRP, we succeeded in reducing the weight to 400g, less than half of the originally expected weight.
The elasticity of the material also makes it highly versatile, making it possible to use a single mold for multiple models and successfully lowering the selling price.

■Uses special mounting bolts for versatility and easy removal and installation
The mounting bolts for the Bikini cowl are made of rust-resistant stainless steel and are an original design completed with the cooperation of an experienced downtown screw wholesaler.
Once the special mounting bolts are attached to the headlights, they can be easily removed and attached with a Phillips screwdriver, making it easy to remove them when the mood strikes or when washing the bike.
Three aluminum collars are included for each side to adjust the tightness of the fitting, depending on the model.

■Two different windshield lengths and colors
The windshield is available in two shapes: the R type and the AERO type, which is 30mm longer than the R type.
The color of the windshield can be selected from smoke or clear type.
The AERO windshield is recommended for highway riding and long distance touring.

■Painted in the stock color that does not destroy the design of the bike
Paint color data for cars is available from paint manufacturers.
Therefore, it is possible to tone colors by mixing specified colors and capacities.
However, paint color data for motorcycle colors are not publicly available.
Moreover, because the area to be painted on a motorcycle is small, some models use a 3-coat paint job, in which painting and drying are repeated three times, or a 4-coat paint job, in which painting and drying are repeated four times, making color adjustments extremely difficult.
It is a creative process to reproduce the stock colors by combining many paints.
If the color is not available at World Walk, we may need to borrow some parts to make the color, which may take up to 2 weeks.
Some customers are surprised that it takes so long, but it is a difficult and time-consuming process even for experienced craftsmen.
However, we have received many compliments on the high reproducibility of the paint applied to World Walk's bikini cowl.
Color mixing is extremely difficult, but we take the time and effort to create it to the satisfaction of our customers.
