[Work Process]
1) Lift the rear tire on the maintenance stand.
2) Rotate the tire and find the position where the chain is most taut, and make it the reference point.
(3) Check that the eccentric scales are in the same position on both sides. (If they are not, adjust them first.)
4) Loosen the fixing bolts at the end of the swing arm on both sides.
5) Next, insert the wrench into the adjuster part.
6) Move the wrench and adjust the chain tension to the specified value of 20mm30mm.
(7) Check again that the eccentric scale is in the same position on both sides.
8）Tighten the fixing bolts at the end of the swing arm to 64N-m on both sides.
9) Remove the maintenance stand and you are done.
Advice
When adjusting the drive chain, it should not be too tight or too loose, so check the maintenance book and adjust it to stay within the specified range. If the drive chain becomes loose, you will hear a loud rattling sound, feel a loss of power, or experience a loss of fuel economy, so it is necessary to check the drive chain.
Adjusting the drive chain is relatively easy and quick, and should be done at the same time as the drive chain cleaning operation to maintain the performance of the vehicle and to prolong the life of the drive chain and sprockets.
