Dry and disinfect your helmet in one unit
Helmet moisture removal, which is something of a hot topic these days, and helmet drying at the end of the day. This is especially problematic during the summer months when it's easy to sweat and become a damp helmet.
The interior of a helmet that is damp from sweat or rain is the perfect environment for germs to grow, and as this progresses, an unpleasant odor is created.
In this article, I'll be giving a review of the savior of the humidity situation, the much talked about Dr Dry helmet dryer on the street.

Features
A dryer for the helmet allows the interior to be dried. In addition, the UV lamp has a sterilizing effect. Gloves can also be dried with optional accessories.
Should I leave it alone or washing it?
Well, my helmet was soaked with sweat when I got back from touring! If left untreated, bacteria can grow and cause an unpleasant odor. So you're given three options!
- Leave it as it is (route not to be bothered by the stench)
- Wash the interior. (No ride tomorrow...)
- Let the helmet dryer take care of it.
Now, which one do you want to choose? I would recommend 2 or 3. However, the truth is that washing the interior is not something you can do every day because the process of washing, as well as drying, takes a lot of time. To begin with, when I come home tired and exhausted, I want to have a quick beer pshaw.
This is where the helmet dryer comes into play.
The basics are easy! I'll use it when I get back.
The silver body of Dr Dry's helmet dryer is quite cool. I don't think it would look out of place in an interior design.
There is a filter on the backside. If it gets dirty, you can clean it.
The basics of using it are simple: plug it in, put the helmet on the helmet dryer, and turn it on! That's all.
Considering that you can't wash it every day and that it will smell if you don't wash it, it's an adult use of the time that can be left to the machine. Make time by leaving what can be left to machines. This is the Smart Rider of 2022.
Now, I actually put it on and turned it on, too. If your helmet has a shield at this time, open the shield.
It's quieter than I imagined, and it doesn't feel like it's going to be very airy.
Press the switch once and it goes into blast mode and starts a 30-minute countdown. It's a nice touch that it stops automatically.
You can also switch the timer time and the maximum is 90 minutes. Press the TIMER button to add 10 minutes at a time.
The noise level is normal to slightly below normal. I measured it on my phone and it was right next to me, about 66-68db, and about 50db sitting in front of me.
Apparently, it's quieter than Webike's in-house.
If you compare this to other appliances, it's about the same as a quiet hair dryer or an air purifier. You don't have to worry about anything to keep it moving around the front door.
Now, the air being blown in, this is weaker than expected. The wind speed is 4km./h. It's not a full breeze, so it might be a bit anticlimactic a soft breeze. But this is probably the best way to dry your helmet.
There's also hot air.
You can also get hot air just like a hairdryer. If you want to switch, I will tell you the HOT button. The temperature of hot air is around 47 degrees Celsius. If you want to dry faster than airflow, use warm air. Press the HOT button to return from hot air to blower.
It can be sterilized under UV light.
When you press the STER button in the warm air mode, the unit's UV lamp lights up and can be sterilized. It is cool!
There have been machines in the past to dry helmets, but the ability to sterilize them is hard to come by. Or rather, I've never seen it before.
The cause of helmet odor is not caused by wetness, but by an increase in germs that tend to grow on wet items. This means that if you don't eliminate any bacteria that may have already developed at the same time as drying out, you could develop an odor.
Being able to do both drying and sterilization makes sense from an odor elimination perspective.
Now, this time, the helmet dryer is actually not as effective as it was after one use. Disappointingly, the only thing we got from this impression was a dry track record. Maybe if you use it all the time, you'll get the benefit of a helmet that doesn't smell.
But think about it, a helmet that doesn't do anything is not even dry. It's drenched in sweat. That would be a huge benefit, even if it just makes it drier.
Dry your gloves with the attachment.
The helmet dryer, which we're imprinting on, can be dried with the addition of an optional helmet dryer (image right), which is sold separately, to dry gloves as well. It is an attachment that plugs into the dryer's blower, and when you plug it in, it creates two towers that rise up. Put a glove in this tower section and you're ready to go.
You can then dry it in the same manner as you did with the helmet.
It's not often that your helmet is soaked with sweat in the winter, but getting your gloves wet in the rain is a year-round event. Especially during the rainy season, it is not uncommon to have a case where it rains continuously, and it rains before it dries out. We don't know what's going to happen this summer or fall because of the extreme weather conditions that continue throughout Japan. This attachment, which allows you to dry it right away, is very useful in such cases.
The price is a little bit higher at 27,500 yen
Whether you think this is expensive, cheap, or something like that is up to you. Oooh, it's pretty expensive. At first, I thought so too, but after using it for a while, it started to feel like a natural price. Most importantly, the quality is high. It's not too churlish.
I go touring a lot. I'm sweaty. You want to keep your helmet clean. This is definitely a "buy" for those riders. I'd be happy if they come out with a similar product with lower specs or something similar in the future.
However, it is also true that the price is a hurdle to overcome in exchange for high quality. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with in the future!
