CRF250L 2021 (250cc)
Owner: YJO
I'd like to introduce you to YJO's current motorcycle, the CRF250L, from among all the MY Bikes posted in the Webike community.
Announced in November 2020, the new CRF250L was a model that did not ship well after its launch in December. With the current supply of new vehicles being held up for a variety of reasons, including global container, shipping and semiconductor shortages, the Webike community has been waiting for the new CRF250L to be registered.
The new CRF250L has undergone a full model change for the first time in eight years, and has been given the appearance of the higher-end CRF450L look. The headlight and other lights are now full LED, and the stylish little face is more compact and lighter at the same time. The new frame has a 30mm higher minimum ground clearance, which contributes to improved off-road performance.
The weight reduction is noteworthy, but despite the new ABS, it is still a whopping 4kg lighter. The engine is an improved version of the previous model, but the camshaft has been changed to make it more suitable for off-road use, with a strong and easy-to-handle characteristic in the low and medium speed range.
There are two types of CRF250L, S with longer suspension (880mm seat height) and STD with 830mm seat height, the same as Serow 250. STD may be able to fill in the hole of Serow which was discontinued, but according to the evaluation of "YJO", it seems to feel heavy in hard off-road riding. Although it was lightened, CRF is 7kg heavier than Serow, so if you lighten it by customization such as exhaust system, it will be more fun.
Reason for purchasing
A second motorcycle to ride year round, for strength training.
Disadvantages
After all, it is heavy, and the body is big, and I hesitate to start riding comfortably. If it's just a forest road, it's no problem at all, but if you're going into a side road of a forest road, I think you need to be on a diet (of a motorcycle). More than technique, muscle training is essential to mastering the ride.
Advice
Be careful with the handguard. There is a balancer on the handlebar with an M6 thread, which can be replaced with an M6 thread on the Zeta to hold it in place.
