Kawasaki Z125 Pro Owner Review
Introducing the passionate story of Yochimaru who rides the Z125 Pro, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.
He shares his reviews of the Z125 Pro, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.
Brief self-introduction
Motorcycle history
I've been riding 250cc, 125cc, 250cc, 400cc, and 125cc for about 12 years.
How I enjoy my motorcycle on a regular basis?
On my days off, it's less than a long-distance over a chopper. It's mainly commuting.
How long I have been riding this motorcycle?
From November 2018.
Motive for purchase
I was thinking 125cc, down in size from 400cc. Of course, a manual transmission motorcycle. At first, I considered the CB125R -> rejected it because my leg can't reach it, it's expensive, and the garage is too small for full size. Then of course it was a one-on-one battle with the Grom, but I heard that the acceleration was slow, so I thought that the mini would be the acceleration...the rest is the design. The exhaust system is under the engine, which was a bit strange to me at first, but I've come to think it's pretty cool now. And yet, the stock external exhaust system is the only choice for the Yamamoto exhaust system. Of course, I'm using the Yamamoto exhaust system.
Satisfactions
For applications
Since I'm choosing something other than a scooter, it's no surprise that it's not loaded. It has good footing and I'm not worried about it.
For riding
The acceleration is solid with no gear loss. In any case, the 12-inch tires become unstable if you go too fast, so I wouldn't push it. The fact that you can adjust the preload of the stock rear suspension is a good thing. I don't really care about it because I'm going to change it to an external one.
For appearance
I think the rear tail area is especially cool compared to similar models. The overall design and fit are relatively solid for a Thai Kawasaki. Also, the limited edition orange color is quite good. It would be great if they carry it in Webike.
Dissatisfaction
For applications
I use it in the rain for commuting use, but the rear fender doesn't work. Even the stock fender bounces, so of course, it bounces even with the fender eliminator. I think that the shape of the inner fender (not covered by the tire) is not better than the fender problem.
I think the seat is fine for a choinori or so, but I think it's hard for long distances. With the stock exhaust system in the stock position, the exhaust system will get dirty quickly from cleaning the chain. If you open the throttle to the governor about 3 or 40% from idle, it's easy to stall.
For riding
I'm splitting it with 125cc, so it's not much. As you can see from the data, you can't beat a 125cc scooter in this class. Also, the front suspension is squishy. Unlike the rear suspension, I don't think the front is a part that can be changed easily, so I'm not satisfied here. I can understand if it's 50cc, but with 125cc of this size, you don't need to go up to 6 speeds, so if you can shut up and go to 5 speeds, you'll be fat.
For appearance
I can deal with it with an external cover, but since the GROM (MSX-125) has also been redesigned, I think the front mask should look stock and sharp like the Z series.
Summary
I was somewhat prepared for this, but the custom parts, information, etc. are not overwhelmingly comparable to the GROM (MSX-125). Therefore, I think everyone will have a roughly similar finish.
Thank you, Yochimaro, for a narrative that really shows your love for the Z125 Pro!
