Honda Super Cub 110 Owner Review
Introducing a passionate story of the Super Cub 110, from Webike Community "My Beloved Moto" campaign.
He shares his reviews of the Super Cub 110, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.
Brief self-introduction
Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
I've been riding motorcycles for 26 years and have ridden about 30 motorcycles, mostly small-displacement motorcycles. Since I was a child, I've enjoyed riding my motorcycle to places I've never ridden before, so I guess my motorcycle is just an extension of that fun.
How long I have been riding this motorcycle?
I bought the Super Cub 110 that I am going to talk about in this article two and a half years ago in early winter, right after this new model was released. The first motorcycle I rode after I got my license was a Cub, and I have been riding various models of Cubs ever since.
Motive for purchase and use
The main applications are daily commuting and weekend camping trips. I'm looking for a motorcycle that gets good mileage, has low maintenance costs, is easy to load up with camping gear, and is within reach of a short-legged uncle (lol). And when I look for it, I always end up with a Cub.
The Cross Cub 110 was the one I compared and reviewed. I chose the Super Cub because of the 55,000 yen price difference and the presence or absence of a leg shield, but I also envy the Cross Cub because of its overwhelming compatibility with camping.
Satisfaction
For applications
1) As a commuter motorcycle
Anyway, good gas mileage! It always gets close to 60km per liter, so it's nice to know that it's easy on the pocketbook. In addition, tires, oil, chains, and other consumables are inexpensive, and since they never break down, the maintenance costs are very low. It's also good that it's a moped, so it's easy to find a place to park it in a bicycle parking lot in front of the station. Furthermore, the engine and exhaust noise are very quiet, so it doesn't bother our neighbors when I go in and out of the station every day, which is important for a commuter motorcycle.
2) As a camp touring motorcycle
The cargo bed (carrier) is large and flat, so the load capacity is superb. You can also increase the size of the cargo bed, attach a box or side bags, and many other parts and accessories are available for the Cub, so you have many options. In camping, the amount of gear to be loaded varies from 10 to 30 kg depending on the season and the location of the camp, but we have never felt that we are short of it.
For riding
I really like the "clutchless but with gear controls" transmission of the Cub. Whether you want to take it slow and easy, or you want to be aggressive and drive fast, this machine will do the job.
There's a definite "sporting" feel to it that's important to the fun of riding a motorcycle! Another good thing about this motorcycle is that it is resistant to bumps in the woods and campground access roads, which makes it very satisfying to ride on. You can ride on road surfaces that would be more stressful if it were a scooter with smaller wheels or a road sportbike with a stiffer suspension without worrying about anything.
Personally, I think the Cub is a dual-purpose motorcycle that can also be ridden off-road (laughs).
For appearance
It looks fine, I guess (laughs). The good thing about the design is that it blends in with any landscape in Japan, so it doesn't make a rival.
Dissatisfaction
For applications
I don't have any complaints because I chose the motorcycle model with its intended use in mind from the beginning. They don't disappoint or exceed my expectations in a good way.
For riding
There are times when I wish it had a little more power. Sometimes I have to give way to a four-wheeler on a hard uphill slope, maybe it's because I'm too heavy. I honestly feel that it should be a little faster when accelerating on main roads. It is slower than the 7.2ps moped scooters of the 2-stroke era. When I test rode the Super Cub C125, which has a slightly larger displacement, I felt that it would be nice to have such powerful starting acceleration.
For appearance
You can't tell them apart from the cub at work, so you can't expect a "yeah" while touring (lol).
Summary
One of the best things about the Cub is its versatility, which allows it to be used for anything you don't use the highway for. I think the Cub is best suited to applications that require economy and rationality in their motorcycles, especially if you want something economical and reasonable and loadability is important to you.
Doesn't the fact that it's "the best-selling transportation model in history" and that there are so many people riding Cubs for work and play that it's hard not to see one every day?
So, it was a summary that I could recommend to anyone (lol).
