Suzuki Grass Tracker Big Boy Owner Review

Introducing a passionate story of ROUTE23 who ride Grass Tracker Big Boy, from Webike Community's "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shared his review of the Grass Tracker Big Boy, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.

Brief self-introduction

Motorcycle history and how I usually enjoy my motorcycle.
I have 33 years of motorcycle experience (with 15 years of interruptions). Has ridden TRY, GSX-R250, ZEPHYR750, GSX-R750, SRX600, TZM50R, 96RS125, Grass Tracker BB, GSX-R125 (current). I just love to ride, from touring to circuit riding. Lately, I've also started tinkering with motorcycles.

How long I've been riding this motorcycle
For about five years.

Motivation for purchase and purpose of use
I bought a used Grass Tracker BB with a grip heater as a commuter motorcycle when I moved to a new job 6 years ago. I used it for commuting and touring until it was scrapped in a right-handed accident a year and a half ago. Since I did maintenance as much as possible by myself with saving money, my maintenance skill improved.

Satisfaction

For the application
I mainly drove the R23 on my way to work, and it had enough power to keep the motorcycle flowing without any problems. It is easy to access the maintenance parts, and even an amateur can do maintenance by referring to the web. The position of the motorcycle is natural for touring and you won't get tired. There is no tachometer, but I don't feel the need for it.

For riding
The stock K180 tires provide a good grip on the pavement, and the straightforward maneuverability makes the motorcycle turn well in the corners. You will be able to get into the dirt all of a sudden without any panic. Iridium plugs and one drive sprocket are installed to make high speed cruising a little easier.

For appearance
The line of the tail cowl from the tank seen from the diagonal back is cool if you go tail tidy. It can be worn with a leather jacket or everyday wear.

Dissatisfaction

For applications
The handlebars are wide and you have to be careful when you slip through. The seat is narrow and my buttocks get sore after a long ride.

For riding
I changed to Daytona Golden Pads because the stock F brake pads don't work at all. I feel a slight lack of power on hills.

For appearance
The R of the normal front fender does not match the outside diameter of the front tire, so I replaced it with an external one. Plated parts are prone to rust.

Summary

It is recommended for those who ride motorcycles for fashion, commuting, and touring, and it is also surprisingly fun to ride on circuits and corners on mountain passes. It's not so good on the highway, but it's an all-rounder that can handle everything else. I think it is the coolest street motorcycle.
