"EVA RT first machine Webike TRICK STAR" participated in the 41st meeting of Suzuka 8 Hour Endurance road race with three examiners of Osamu Deguchi / Anthony West / Mathieu GINES.

Following the influence of the typhoon from the previous day, we succeeded in raising the ranking to eighth place at the race finish in a rapidly changing weather forecast. However, while aiming for even higher rank, Deguchi player overturned at the 50th lap. Although there was no other thing in life, there was no other thing, but I got injured and it was impossible to go out, the machine wrecked and I could not return to the race as it was.

The team decided not to abstain as it was, changed to the goal to cut goals. With the efforts of the mechanics, the wrecked machine was restored and sent out to the course again at 7:20 pm.

Rider is Mathieu. A big applause rises from the cheering seat, and a course in to receive a checkered flag. For Mathieu, this ten minutes was the first stint of the tournament final, now the last stint. I firmly ran to grab it and met the goal at 7:30 pm.

27th preliminary round

This year the rainy season has been onset since the early hours and it was held in dry conditions in the hot weather that lasts for about two weeks or more. Regulation had restrictions on the number of tires to be used, and the team came in with a strategy aiming at the final and not using the number of preliminary rounds as much as possible.

The kind of tire also selects a medium hard looking at the final, and starts from the first rider's Anthony West player. As soon as the riders of other teams toppled over with a hairpin curve, the vehicles remained in the course, so the red flag was interrupted.

The vehicle collection is over and restarted. In the first lap of measurement, Anthony players attacked each corner at the time which approached their own best time already and passed through the control tower. Measure the time of 2 minutes 9 seconds 8. Even though we try a time attack on the second lap, the time can not be updated because it is hampered by a slow machine.

In the next lap also in the sector section up to halfway, I did not get the clear lap, but I could not update the time though I tried my best time. Since athlete Deguchi and Mathieu who follows this also have to use the tires used by Anthony player, qualifying time still remains for the purpose of preserving the tire, but the qualifying for the first round was rounded up and ended.

The following second rider's Osamu Deguchi runs qualifying. Course in using the tire of Anthony player who was done earlier. The opening lap passes through each sector smoothly while checking the machine. Then I entered the measurement lap. He recorded a sector time closely approaching Anthony. However, at the time I entered sector 3, an accident by another car occurred on the course, and it became a red flag and it was interrupted.

After the restart, the Osamu Deguchi player were able to arrive at the 15th place with the time saying 2 minutes 10 seconds 6 without cutting the concentration.

It became the matrimonial time of the following third rider Mathieu. This time we joined the team from the race week, but we arranged the team with a high-profile attitude that does not feel that handicap. Its appearance was a behavior that nods greatly in the achievement that became the EWC World Endurance Champion in 2014.

On the course when the measurement began, it became red flag again, so that all sessions were interrupted by Red Flag, and the team power was tried without breaking concentration. Retaken care, Mathieu players also also a time attack, not take it quite clear lap, yet already finished the qualifying in 2 minutes 12 seconds stand not reach out a time as I think the running due to tire two people were using.

Anthony players and Osamu Deguchi player also had the confidence to be able to further raise the time in the second qualifying session, and the team had an image to raise the ranking significantly in the second qualifying session. However, since Anthony players want to raise a little more at the corner, there is a demand that they want to change the gear ratio, and the team responds to the request and changes the specifications. Although it sent out to the course, Anthony players could not update the time.

Anthony player coming back to the pit said that the feeling of the machine had changed at all and it was difficult to ride a lot. Anthony's qualifying time is over at this point. The team returned the changed gear ratio and prepared for the qualifying exit. The Osamu Deguchi player first jumped out of the course and asked the motivation.

However, the Red Flag was hampered by the time attack again at the point where he entered the measurement lap. Even at the Deguchi player's comment back to the pit it was said that the machine changed at all and it was impossible to time up as I thought. Actually, I changed the swing arm to change the gear ratio, and its influence went into a bad direction. According to Deguchi player's comment, in order to restore the original specifications it worked without waiting for the end of qualifying time.

It restored to the original specification and it was time to let Matieu of the last runner time up. Since the preliminary ranking can be decided by the total time of three people, the time of Mathieu is also important. I challenged the final qualifying with the used tire used by the Deguchi player, but the red flags hurt the time attack earlier as soon as they started.

The third rider was a lot late riders with slow pace and it was hard to secure the clear lap. Among them, Mathieu updated the first time and raised it to 2 minutes 11 seconds. But qualifying time is over here, the team ranked 22nd.

29th finals

The weather was influenced by the typhoon from the previous day and it was done in a rapidly changing forecast. Aligned with each team grid, suddenly rain started around 10 minutes before the start progress finally, the movement of each team became busy.

The team was holding up with slick tires, but we exchanged for a rain tire and waited for the start. Rain became stronger just before the start and the start was cut off with complete rain condition. Anthony athletes of the start rider are particularly good at rain condition, so teams are expected to expand their expectations.

The start was canceled at 11:30 am.
Anthony decided successfully and decided to jump up considerably from 22nd. I passed the 15th place on the control line on the first lap. We will raise the rankings steadily to 14th on 2nd lap and 13th on 4th lap.

While continuing to battle 13th afterwards, the rain which had fallen strongly to a point earlier ceased, the circuit returned to the high temperature condition again, and this time, the road surface was dried suddenly. As we went lap, as we moved to dry conditions, it became a point where we could run with rain tires. In the difficult condition, I raise the 11th place on lap 12.

In the top group, a team returning to the pit began to slickly exchanged, and the race showed great movements. Anthony athlete ranked up to 8th place and finished 15 laps, so pit in for tire change. We spent a bit of time to replace the tires, gasoline refueling and car body setting from rain setting to dry condition, and the Anthony player returned to the course again in the time of the pit work total 1 minute 08 seconds.

The ranking after returning to the course was 17th place. While the time in the rain condition was in the 2 minutes 23 seconds range, we started piling lap at the 2 minutes 13 seconds range, then raised the time to the 2 minute 12 seconds range and pushed.

On the 25th lap I gained 16th place, the 15th on lap 26 and the 2nd 11th 8 on the lap 27 further raised the pace. On the 28th lap I raised my rank to 12th place and surely shortened the time with my last car.

Even then, with a lap time of 2 minutes and 11 seconds averaged, I stabbed the laps steadily, this time I was wearing 26 seconds from the 4th place, unchanged from the time I was fighting 4th.

Anthony who finally ranked up to 11th on lap 30, ran for the remaining 10 laps and ran for a total of 40 laps alone and pitted in. After switching to slick tires and refueling it was supposed to be 27 laps, but since the replenishment warning lamp was activated, it came back to the pit in 26 laps at the judgment of Anthony player.

I completed the pit work of gasoline refueling and tire change, and then returned to the course in about 46 seconds. This time is a good time to line up with the top group.

The rider changed from Anthony player to the Deguchi player. Deguchi, who went on the course also chase ahead at a good pace that is comparable to Anthony players. On lap 44 he raised his position to 9th place. After that, steadily wrapping laps, and Deguchi is going further with the difference with the previous car. The average was stable in the 12 second range.

However, at the 50th lap which I expected to go as it is, Deguchi, the player will not return from the sector 3 to the home straight. The figure of the car No. 10 which is falling at the final corner was displayed on the monitor ...

The injured player was in a state where he could not walk alone, he was taken to the medical office with an ambulance as it was. The machine was brought back to the pit in a tow truck after a few minutes. He was told that it is impossible to go out as it is from the doctor who examined.

Meanwhile, when the mechanics checked the machine that was overturned, it turned out that the handle on the right was bent due to the fall and broke through the frame. Tsuruta abandoned it as continuing the race as it continues to play as it is because the frame is damaged, so after giving up trouble, I abandoned continuing the race as it is.

However, rather than ending this way, the team began to restore the machine at least to cut off the goal.

I restored the machine which wrecked by the mechanic's efforts and send it to the course again at 7:20 pm. Rider is Mathieu. A big applause rose from the cheering seat and went on to take a checkered flag.

For Mathieu, this ten minutes was the first stint of the 2018 Suzuka 8 Hour Endurance road race final and became the last stint. I firmly ran to seize it and greeted the goal at 7:30 pm.

The race which started from the 22nd turn is replaced by me where Anthony got a great position in difficult conditions. I ranked up to ninth and continued to battle intensely to aim at the upper rank, in the last corner I fell over the high side from gear omission.

I was transported to the medical office and the machine was picked up afterwards, but it was not enough to repair and receive the checker as much as I wanted. I am sorry for the team staff who prepared for a year, the support company, and the fans who always support us warmly.

Although my body had some injuries, I am fine. I would like to apologize to everyone who was worried. Now I will focus on injury treatment and aim for early return. I would be pleased if you can continue supporting us.

"I gave up on EWC participation in this season and came to this one game. From last year the team's potential increased and I felt the response was satisfactory.
