Spanish FIM Endurance World Championship rider Mika Pérez says he’ll “ready to fight” when the 45th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race takes place from 19-21 July.
Pérez has joined the Kawasaki Plaza Racing Team for Japan’s round of the EWC having made his debut in the all-action series during the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans in April riding for Team Players.
“I’m really excited to join Kawasaki Plaza Racing Team for the Suzuka 8 Hours,” said Pérez, who will be a contender for the Dunlop-supplied Superstock category. “It will be a dream for me to ride in such an amazing team and track and I can’t wait to jump on the bike to show what I can do.”
After testing at Suzuka last month, Pérez said: “Suzuka is a very complicated circuit and there are still some details to be polished up, but we are ready to fight in what will be the toughest physically and mentally race of my life.
“We had a really good feeling with the team and decent race pace. Suzuka is a tricky track and still have to improve in some areas but I’m very happy with the feelings with the new team and the pace. I want to thank Kawasaki Plaza Racing Team for the incredible job.”
