Described by the Dunlop-equipped outfit as a “crucial step” for the upcoming 24 Heures Motos, the two-day test focused on “low-temperature performance and refining pit work operations”.
Team Étoile was also able to gather “valuable data to optimise tyre selection and overall machine performance for the season ahead”.
With ambient temperatures of approximately six degrees centigrade, conditions that are likely to be experienced during the night in Le Mans next month, Team Étoile was able to “evaluate tyre grip, durability and the BMW M1000RR’s behaviour in demanding circumstances”, according to Takashi Ichikawa’s FIM Endurance World Cup title-chasing operation.
Motoharu Ito, Hikari Okubo, Kyosuke Okuda and Kazuki Watanabe were all in action at Mobility Resort Motegi, the venue of Japan’s MotoGP round in September.
“In the 24 Heures Motos our goals include securing a strong finish, earning vital championship points, and ultimately contending for the series title,” Ichikwawa said. “This year we have a consistent four-rider line-up that we believe will provide a stable foundation.
As part of our mission to develop young riders, we strive for both strong results and growth opportunities.
“In this test, we not only deepened our knowledge of the machine but also gathered the critical data needed for race conditions. While a few areas need attention, we’re ready to address them before Le Mans. Step by step, we will continue moving forward toward our ultimate goal.”
The 24 Heures Motos forms the opening round of the four-event 2025 EWC season from 17-20 April. Ticket information is available HERE.
