BMW Corporation has announced the introduction of the new 2025 S1000RR in Japan. The specifications of this model have been further improved through the evolution of the winglets and throttle, resulting in even higher dynamic performance at high speeds.
There are 3 models: Race spec, Standard, and M Sport. All will be available for sale from February 5, 2025 (Wednesday), with prices ranging from approx. 17,673 USD - approx. 23,288 USD, depending on the color.
Significantly Updated Aerodynamics, New Brake Cooling Ducts
The new S1000RR, which was previously announced in Europe, follows the basic design of the previous model and is a liter sport with a high power output of 210PS. The STD model weighs 198kg, 1kg more than the previous model, while the M-Sport model weighs 193.5kg.
The main updates include new, larger winglets, newly designed side panels, fenders, and other exterior features that have been modified to optimize aerodynamics, while the "M Short Stroke Throttle" has greatly improved the RR performance.
S1000RR (2025) The new S1000RR, whose image was drastically changed with the winglets, has finally arrived in Japan.
The engine and equipment are basically the same as the previous model, with aerodynamic improvements being the main update.
Two lines, Standard and M Sport, will be available for public roads.
The winglets, a clearly visible improvement, stabilize the vehicle's handling by generating strong downforce at high speeds 23.1kg of load can be applied to the front of the vehicle at 300km/h, reducing banking during cornering and wheelie tendency during acceleration. This can also be expected to improve time on the circuit. New cooling ducts around the front fenders and front brake discs allow efficient cooling of the forks and calipers.
In addition, the “M Short Stroke Throttle” has been changed from a 72-degree to a 58-degree high throttle, eliminating the need to re-grip the throttle and increasing handling freedom. With these updates, circuit driving performance has been greatly enhanced.
The winglets are the most significant change. They increase vehicle stability at high speeds and improve lap times.
In terms of equipment, a short stroke throttle is newly adopted, allowing the throttle to be used with fewer openings.
The lineup consists of three types: Race, Standard, and M Sport. The Race version is limited to build-to-order production, and the only color available is "Black Storm Metallic (forged wheels). The price is approx. 18,047 USD. The standard model is available in two colors, with a choice of cast or forged wheels. The Black Storm Metallic (cast wheels) is priced at approx. 17,673 USD, while the forged wheel version is priced at approx. 18,987 USD. The Bluestone Metallic with cast wheels is priced at approx. 18,015 USD, and the forged wheel version is priced at approx. 19,330 USD.
The M Sport, which bears the racing image, comes in one color, “Light White/M Motorsport,” and the forged wheel version costs approx. 19,955 USD, while the carbon wheel version costs approx. 23288 USD
