In 2020, the Ninja ZX-25R was released as the only 4-cylinder model in the 250cc range. Three years later, the Ninja ZX-4R/4RR has been released as the only 400cc model. This 4R is a sports motorcycle that will make you rethink what a "just right super sports motorcycle" is.

"A sudden evolution, the pleasure of a new generation 4-cylinder engine" NINJA ZX-4RR KRT EDITION Test Ride
This is great. It feels great! It revs up nicely at high RPMs, but even at low RPMs it produces nice torque. Two-cylinder engines are good, but four-cylinder engines are the best.
The two-cylinder Ninja 400 also produces torque from low RPMs, and it revs up nicely at high RPMs, but the smooth, whoosh-like way that a four-cylinder engine revs feels great.
I think everyone feels the same when they ride the NinjaZX-4R/RR.
"A 400cc four-cylinder engine just revs up, but it's not fast at all."
"It's thin at the bottom, so you can't ride it unless you rev it up until it produces torque."
People who say things like that are those who have never ridden a ZX-4R/RR. And even for those who rode a ZXR400 in the 90s, this new generation four-cylinder engine is on a whole different level.
