[Scoop] The new Z900RS is the first matte black fireball!? The 2025 model will come in two colors, brown and red.

Motorcycle

Kawasaki's Z900RS continues to be a best-seller. Rumors of the 2025 model that have already been picked up indicate that it will be clad in a chic "Black Fireball" color! There is also a possibility that it will be the first ever matte black. Along with the "Brown Tamamushi" color announced overseas, two colors will be released. Will this be another sure to be popular?

A super cool grey and black fireball colour set as an SE?

The Z900RS debuted in 2018 as a modern version of the Z1. Since its release, it has been the best-seller in the large class for six consecutive years, and its momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

And now, we have information that the 2025 model, which will be the eighth year since its release, will be clad in a chic black. The pattern will be the familiar two-tone fireball color, and the tank will be black and gray.

Up until now, black with lines and stripes has been available in the 2018-2019 model. Also, a solid black was available in the 2020 model, but this is the first time that a black fireball color has been available.

Details are unknown, but there is information that it will have a matte finish. If it comes to fruition, it will be the first matte body color in the Z900RS series, so it is likely to attract a lot of attention.

The "brown iridescent color" described below will be the standard specification, and this black fireball is expected to be available as an SE.

The SE is the top grade and is equipped with Brembo M4.32 radial-mount monoblock calipers and Ohlins S46 at the rear. The suspension settings of the front forks have been changed, and the outer tubes and wheels are also gold. The front discs are also made by Brembo and come with stainless steel mesh hoses.

It is expected that a wine red x gold striped brown jewel beetle will also appear.

The new color of the 2025 model that Kawasaki announced in Indonesia is also expected to be introduced in Japan. The new color of the Z900RS is a candy-like wine red with gold stripes and white swirls. Following the black of the SE, the calm red will also be the first to appear on the Z900RS.

This color reproduces the "brown iridescent" of the Z1 series, which became the motif of the Z900RS. The same color was also available on the former 2005 Zephyr 1100/750/χ (400), which also inherited the Z1 series.

We expect the domestic specifications of the 2025 model to be introduced around this fall for both the SE and STD.

Will the 2025 model cafe have a beautiful gradation like custom paint?

The Z900RS Cafe is a cafe racer-style derivative model with a bikini cowl, low handlebars, and a special seat. The 2024 model was available in black with gold lines.

The 2025 Indonesian model will feature a new color with a black base and lime green gradation. It's an elaborate finish that looks like a custom paint job. This model is also expected to be released in Japan as a 2025 model.

[Z990RS Commentary] A fusion of the timeless Z1 form and modern sportiness

Since the air-cooled inline-four-cylinder Zephyr 1100 was discontinued in 2007, there has been no model that inherited the "Z" of the past. As fans eagerly awaited, the "Z900RS" was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in the fall of 2017 as its world premiere.

According to the official release, the concept is "a retro sports Z created in homage to the legendary Z1". The style with a round single-lens headlight, bullet-shaped meter, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and tail cowl extending to the rear is exactly like the Z1.

The base is the Z900, a street fighter with a 948cc water-cooled inline-four engine mounted on a lightweight steel trellis frame. The classical exterior creates a completely different form. At the same time, the water-cooled inline-four unit, which is different from the old Z and Zephyr series, makes for a powerful ride. In addition, the suspension, including an inverted fork and horizontal monoshock, traction control, and assist and slipper clutch are given to combine a traditional form with modern riding.

The 2024 Z900RS will be available in the Yellow Ball Edition ($9669.33) shown in the photo, as well as in the standard blue and black fireball and black with pinstripes. The SE will continue to be sold as the 2023 model in a different shade of yellow ball color.

The 2024 Z900RS Cafe will be available in black with gold pinstripes.
