Wheels and Waves, a motorcycle, surfing, and lifestyle festival, is being held in Biarritz, France, also known as the holy land of surfing. Honda Motor Europe is currently holding a customization contest based on the Middle Scrambler CL500 at this event. Builders from all over Europe have put their skills to work on 16 motorcycles, and you may get some hints for customizing your own car!
The winner of the contest will be determined by voting at the event and on the web, and the contest is open until August 31, 2024. If there is a machine you are interested in, vote for it!
Honda's 7th year theme is "CL500" Bold Modification & Paint.
Honda Motor Europe has exhibited at Wheels and Waves since 2017, and this will be its seventh year. The theme for 2024 is the CL500, a model with a Rebel-based frame and engine, but with a unique scrambler look that is attracting a lot of attention.
However, in the hands of builders and artists from all over Europe, the CL500 has been transformed so intensely that the original model is unrecognizable! Chopper, off-road, café racer, or any other concept is possible. The potential of the CL500 as a custom base is more than 100%? The potential of the CL500 as a customization base was demonstrated more than 100% by the 16 entry-level motorcycle on display. Let's take a look at each model at a glance.

This year's theme was CL500! Artists and builders from all over Europe showed their skills.
A total of 16 Special Motorcycle
The first model that catches the eye is the "Bunker imPrint" café racer representing Turkey. The front cowl is molded by 3D printer, and it is equipped with CBR250R's inverted fork and radial calipers.
The "CL500 Charade Spirit" from France is dressed in 1980's style Rothmans colors! This graphic is a must have!
Spain "Enduro 500" classic enduro bike theme. Eye-catching design with black and gold stripes.
This is also Spain's "Cherry Lady." The entire exterior is finished in candy red, and the rims are also dyed red.
Spain "CL501R" is a red & blue & white tricolor. It is a flat tracker with gas shock absorbers.
Portugal's "Moonground," as the name implies, looks like a lunar rover. Thermobandage and block tires give it a tough style.
France's "Oceans' Track" is a tracker with an oddly shaped face. The gold wheels are an accent.
France's "CL500 Digger" is colored in the image of the 80's XL and XR. It is equipped with guards and number boards designed for off-road use.
France "Bik'ink" The concept here is a 70's street scrambler. Orange piping is used as accents throughout the layout.
France's "Irezumi" Japanese taste is on full display on the tank and fenders. The style is normal, but the unique paint job is very aggressive.
The theme of "The Poseidon Project" in the U.K. is "The Sea" The ocean blue body also depicts Poseidon.
Italy "Sterrato 500" - The name of this machine means "off-road" in Italian. One-off parts and genuine parts were skillfully combined.
Italy's "Terra Battuta" is a long tourer. The large screen, carrier, and skateboard add to the playful spirit.
Germany's "CL Surfer" has a hard-edged silhouette with a sepahan & metallic silver tank. The stripes on the mudguard are mischievous.
The "Flat Track 500" was the first entry from Belgium. It is a typical flat tracker, but in a matte street color.
Swiss "Alpina 500" celebrating the 50th anniversary of Honda's arrival in Switzerland. Racy with tank inspired by old CB and silencer by SC Project.

Now, an exhibition of such a unique collection of CL500s is surely unprecedented. I would love to see it in person, but unfortunately, the venue is in Southern Europe.
