Jason Pridmore, the 2023 FIM Endurance World Championship title winner in 2003, will be back on EWC duty this week through an alliance with Slovakian squad Maco Racing.

American legend Pridmore, 54, has signed up for the first running of the 8 Hours of Spa Motos aboard a Superstock category Yamaha entered under the JP 43 Racing by Maco banner.

Fellow US racers Andrew Lee and Michael Gilbert will partner Pridmore on the #43 Dunlop-equipped entry, which will be managed by Maco’s Denisa Greškova.

Maco’s partnership with Pridmore is in addition to its Formula EWC entry, which features a change of riders. With Croatian talent Martin Vugrinec still recovering from injuries sustained in crash practicing for the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans in April, Swede Christoffer Bergman has been added to the Maco attack alongside Bulgaria’s Martin Choy and Takeshi Ishizuka from Japan.

Maco Racing owner Martin Kuzma said:

We are going to Belgium with the aim of fighting for the highest possible positions, in both classes, Formula EWC and Superstock.

Bergman has experience in the Supersport World Championship and we worked with him at the recent Alpe Adria Championship race in Rijeka. Both Ishizuka and Choy have already proven their qualities at Le Mans and they will make a strong team together with Bergman.

I am also very pleased to be working again with Jason Pridmore, with whom we have worked for many years and who was also part of our great successes. He was recently with Andrew and Michael at the Slovakia Ring to test and familiarise himself with our technique, and I am glad that we will be able to continue our former cooperation in Spa.

I salute Martin Vugrinec, the whole team wishes him a speedy recovery and return to the bike.
