The new F 900 GS and F 800 GS were launched by BMW last March 22 this year.
Both models underwent a full model change from their predecessors, the F 850 GS and BMW F 750 GS, and were renamed accordingly.
The fully redesigned F 900 GS features a significant increase in displacement and horsepower. In addition, the F 900 GS features a completely redesigned plastic fuel tank and other thorough weight reduction measures, resulting in a total weight reduction of 14 kg from the previous generation model.
Displacement and horsepower have been increased from the previous generation model!
The new F 900 GS and F 800 GS, equipped with newly designed engines, have a displacement of 895 cc, up 42 cc from the 853 cc of their predecessors, the F 850 GS and F 750 GS. Horsepower has also been significantly increased to 77 kW (105 PS) for the F 900 GS and 64 kW (87 PS) for the F 800 GS, a 10 PS increase respectively.
Both models come standard with a 6.5-inch TFT display, and the F 900 GS has inverted triangle headlights with a larger low-beam area for improved illumination.
The F 900 GS' newly designed 14.5-liter plastic fuel tank is 4.5 kg lighter than the previous model's steel tank. The dynamically evolved rear section is also approximately 2.4 kg lighter at the same time.
The Akrapovic rear silencer further reduces weight by an additional 1.7 kg, and a new fully adjustable inverted fork from SHOWA has been installed. The new fully adjustable inverted forks by SHOWA have been replaced.
A significant weight reduction of 14 kg from the previous generation model allows for a wider range of riding applications.
