BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of the new M 1000 XR and S 1000 XR.
In this model change, the M 1000 XR is based on the S 1000 XR and S 1000 RR, tuned to meet the specific requirements of a long-distance sport bike, while the S 1000 XR has more engine power, improved ergonomics, a new design, and more standard equipment.
The M 1000 XR and S 1000 XR will go on sale on May 24, 2024 (Friday), with prices starting at approx. 21052 USD and 17418 USD, respectively.
M1000XR Long-distance performance created by the fusion of M and XR
The M 1000 XR is BMW Motorrad's third M model, following the M 1000 RR superbike and the dynamic M 1000 R roadster. Based on the current S 1000 XR and S 1000 RR, it is tuned to meet the specific requirements of a long-distance sports bike. This ensures that it is capable of performing well on winding roads, on circuits, and long-distance journeys.
The engine output is 201 PS, which is equivalent to supersport power.
In addition, the sports gearbox with short ratios for the 4th and 6th gears and a short secondary reduction ratio allows the driver to extract performance whenever he or she thinks of it.
Carbon is used throughout the exterior, and winglets are used on the shroud next to the radiator to improve driving stability at high speeds and on circuits. The suspension is equipped with lightweight forged aluminum wheels, with carbon wheels available as an option.
It is also said to be able to brake drift toward corners in a constant slide with the electronically controlled brake slide assist. All other exclusive equipment makes this tourer a king worthy of the M name.
The M 1000 XR's exclusive equipment makes it versatile enough for everything from sport riding to touring and tandem touring.

S 1000 XR Outpouring of power and outstanding long-run performance
The new S 1000 XR is an improved version of the previous generation S 1000 XR, a successful long-distance sportbike. Increased engine power, improved ergonomics, improved design, and more standard equipment are among the upgrades of this model.
The engine shared with the S 1000 RR has increased engine output by 5 pps to 170 ps/ 11,000 rpm. The Gearshift Assistant Pro software has been enhanced with various functions, including the ability to improve damping characteristics in response to load changes during shift changes.
The seat position has been optimized by improving the width and length of the seat and increasing the effective area of the seat surface. This has resulted in a much greater degree of freedom when riding, and the rear end has an innovative look with air inlets reminiscent of motorsports.
Headlight Pro with Daytime Running Light function for improved daytime visibility is now standard equipment, and the battery capacity has been changed from 9Ah to 12Ah.
Standard equipment includes a USB charging port and a keyless ride system.
