Honda Japan has released the CB650R for the 2024 model year. The new CB650R is equipped with the new E-Clutch mechanism, which was unveiled at the Milan show last fall and eliminates the need for the clutch operation. The standard model also continues to be offered with a modern design for the lights and side fairings.
The release date and price will vary depending on the specifications, with the standard model to be released on April 25, 2024 (Thursday) at (approx.) 6698 USD.
The CB650R E-Clutch will be released a little later, on Thursday, June 13, at (approx.) 7054 USD.
Notable mechanism that combines the enjoyment of a manual transmission with ease of operation
The CB650R, a large naked bike coming in 2019, is a café racer in the neo-retro style typical of the current CB series, with a beautiful exhaust pipe reminiscent of the CB400Four of yesteryear. The CB650R attracted attention at the Milan show in the fall of 2023 when it was redesigned with a new specification equipped with the new "E-Clutch" mechanism.
The E-clutch is a mechanism that automatically operates the clutch when shifting gears, a function similar to the company's DCT. The major difference from the conventional one is that the clutch lever remains intact, allowing the driver to operate the clutch whenever necessary. Although this means that the AT-only driver's license is not required to drive the vehicle, the clutch has the same nimble feel of a sportbike, and its great appeal is that it makes it easy to operate the clutch, which can be troublesome when riding around town or in traffic jams.

CB650R [HONDA 2024] A middle naked that has undergone a remarkable model change, equipped with Honda's newly developed E-clutch.
The headlight and TFT LCD meter have also been modernized.

The engine is a liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder DOHC with an output of 95 PS at 12,000 rpm. Power remains unchanged from the previous model.

The E-clutch is newly adopted together with its sibling CBR650R. This remarkable mechanism eliminates the need for clutch operation. The equipped specification only increases the weight by 2 kg.
Modernized appearance with a new 5-inch TFT LCD meter!
The E-clutch is not the only change to the new CB650R. A new, smaller slant-type headlight reminiscent of the CB1000R, the flagship of the CB series, has been adopted, and the tail lamp has also been redesigned. The taillight has also been redesigned, giving it a more modern look. The shrouds on the sides of the tank cover have been redesigned to give them an edgier shape.
In addition, the meter was changed to a 5-inch full-color TFT LCD. A cross switch has been added to the left switch box to operate the multi-function LCD monitor.
In addition, the new smartphone integration function, Honda RoadSync, enables music playback and navigation app operation via voice input, greatly enhancing convenience.

Headlights with a significantly different impression. Equipped with horseshoe rim lights and slant shape. The size was also downsized, making it more stylish.

The shroud has also been reshaped, adopting a straight silhouette. The mesh peeks out in a metallic shape.

The taillights have also been changed from horizontal to vertical, giving a sporty impression.

A 5-inch TFT LCD meter is newly adopted. This is the first time that a TFT LCD meter has been installed in the CB family, following the introduction of the CB1000R and CB125R.

Honda RoadSync enables smartphone integration functionality. This enables hands-free operation of navigation, music playback, and answering phone calls.
Although the new CB650R is such a new model, the standard model will also continue in the lineup. This one will go on sale earlier, on Thursday, April 25, 2024, for (approx.) 6699 USD. It will be available in one color, matte ballistic black metallic. The CB650R E-Clutch with E-Clutch will be released on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at (approx.) 7054 USD, 356 USD more than the standard. It will come in two colors, Pearl Deep Mud Gray and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic. Annual sales volume is expected to be 2,300 units, including those of its sibling, the CBR650R.
