The Z1000Mk.II (KZ1000Mk.II for the U.S. market) was sold by Kawasaki for the overseas market. The so-called "Horned Z" has been very popular since the customization boom of the 1990s. The sales period was short and there were only a few units sold to begin with. Today, a car in good condition can be bought and sold for over 5 million yen, making it a rare and precious car that is hard to come by.
Would you like to enjoy the sleek design of the Z1000M.Ⅱ with the latest Z900RS?
Doremi Collection's Z900RS Mk.2 Style steel tank exterior set is the long-awaited item to make such a dream come true. The prototype demo bike, which is scheduled to go on the market, made its debut at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show.
Horn Z design incorporated into the modern Z900RS!
I say "long-awaited" because the Doremi Collection exhibited the first model at the 2019 Tokyo Motorcycle Show. At that time, the Mk. 2 Style was still part of the cosplay customization trend that the company had been promoting with the Z900RS, with an original steel inner tank installed beforehand around the fuel tank and covered with an FRP tank cover. The "Z1 Style," "Ninja Style," and "Z1000R LAWSON Style," all of which have been added to the Z900RS lineup, are all of this style.

At the '19 show, the Z1 Style was equipped with a supercharger and a four-pipe exhaust muffler (currently on sale), which was prepared for the Z1 Style, in cooperation with MS Sailing of Chiba, Japan, and was more of a show bike.
Five years later, the Doremi Collection decided that Kawasaki was unlikely to release a Z1000Mk.II homage model, and accelerated the development of an exterior set for the market. The development process was kept a secret. The unveiling was a surprise to the audience, as the development process was conducted in total secrecy, and no one but those involved in the project was privy to the details of what was to be added until the show.
Peripheral parts are also of genuine quality. All aspects have been taken care of.
There are still more surprises. The Z900RS Mk.2 Style steel tank exterior set uses a special steel tank instead of the previous steel inner tank. The previous steel inner tank was also compatible with vehicle inspections, but it had a capacity of 14 liters, which was less than the 17 liters of the OEM tank.

Special tank for Mk. 2 Style. The tank installed this time is a prototype that was arranged just in time for the show, and its capacity is still unknown.
After the show, the capacity will be measured again, and the company will consider the possibility of commercializing the tank.
The slim width of the tank, which allows the rider to look down on the engine cylinder head area, is reminiscent of the real Z1000 Mk.
The seat, tail cowl, and tail tidy kit are of course exclusive parts, and the stock form of the Z1000Mk.II is well reproduced on the Z900RS base, as expected from Doremi.
The blinkers and tail lights are also exclusive LEDs. The OEM engine generator cover and points cover are installed on this vehicle, but the company is preparing to release a points cover set Ver.Mk2.
The fork cover emblem under the headlight, radiator core guard, chrome front fender, and faux twin shocks will incorporate the product line currently available for other exterior Style sets for the Z900RS. The slip-on Megaphone muffler, released in the summer of '23 and compatible with all Z900RS/Cafe/SE models, is a noteworthy customization part that can give the Z900RS a sporty look without using the exterior Style set.
Many of the parts that will be attached to the vehicles on display at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show are prototypes and are not yet final specifications.
However, it has been decided that the side covers and tail cowl will be made with ABS+.
In other words, they are of the same quality as the genuine products. The Doremi Collection's product line evolves each time a new style is announced. We are looking forward to the commercial release of the Z900RS Mk.2 Style steel tank exterior set.
